what in the ungodly fuck is the reason behind squash matches to establish a monster?

>a fucking nobody comes out, bonus points for no entrance theme or not announcing poor sob by name

>monster comes out

>wreks him in 30 seconds

>match is over

How exacly is beating some random dudes gonna make you look stronger? They're below jobbers in kayfabe powerlevel. These "matches" are short, boring and with only possible outcome.

Hurr a big fella can destroy unprepared skinny dude hired for the sole purpose of being scrawny and weak looking. I'd rather see building monsters with handicap matches against jobbers/lower midcard.

I'd understand one squash and then moving onto jobbers and progress to destroy stronger guys but wwe loves to do squash matches with random local talent 4-5 times in a row. This is by far dumbest shit never actually being talked about.

The monster being pushed is usually not experienced and/or talented enough to wrestle a coherent match, so the squash happens primarily to keep it short while still making the winner look strong.

Obviously it's best to avoid having an established guy lose in 30 seconds, so send in the unknown jobbers.

Its a slow build, you dont want to send a new guy up to beat your top guy in his first match unless hes amazing.

Its also great for testing what moves get over with the crowd because you can try new finishers on different jobbers.

you guys ever think WWE's gonna make another big monster heel and have him beat like 200 local talent dudes and some low-card jobbers, and then one day have some local talent guy somehow defeat the monster and then the guy nobody knows about is the one who gets the push?

Imagine the reaction.

when's even the last time they did that?

X-Pac in the mid 90s?

AJ isn't really a monster heel, but I guess James Ellsworth sorta also qualifies
