This game is honestly not for you if you're not enjoying these walls of slice of life text and even skipping things. Not saying that it's you, it's just how the game is, you could even say that it's a major shortcoming for chances at broader appeal. And it's disjointed on purpose, kind of, but it will only make sense later.
This is a very slow sound novel mostly focused on daily life, memories, with lots of travel and some overarching mystery that is in the end quite different from what you normally expect to be called mystery. There won't be many exciting things happening by its nature.
What I will disagree on is that I think the main duo has a very nice chemistry, it's just more slow-paced and down to earth than we're used to in anime/manga, and there was some calm decision-making involved rather than being caused by pure passion.
I guess I tend to enjoy things like these, read this in moon (so it was even slower for me) like two years ago when I heard about it from a VN hipster and it really grew on me.
