You know the Lunarians want the Houseki's for their gem properties. So those giant blue spikes that basically mulched Amethyst, those probably came from Sapphire. Which means they're basically shaving the girls of their stones and allowing it to grow back, in a way very guro mineral sort of way.
Helios or heliolite is also on the moon, so that's 5 girls total known disappeared. There's supposedly 28 gemstones in existence, there's probably a few more not yet known that the Lunarians have.

Few things. Kongo is apparently the element of Adamant. While regarded as fictional, it's also said to be one of the strongest in existence. And that is reflected in how good he is in battle. But there's also some kind of connection with the Lunarians, as was in his dream. In fact, the show does have that heavy Buddhist influence. What the sea creature spoke of bone, body and soul. There's a similar thing to do with reincarnation, in that the body gets abandoned, the mind joins with the soul to add it's experience and the soul goes into another life to repeat the cycle. Hmm.
Last thing are the houseki the who are taken. Like, what condition are the Lunarians keeping them in? I suspect they're shaved or kept as dust that keeps multiplying, then they can fashion said shaves/dust into any weapon they want. So rescuing them would be a bit hard without buckets and the like. Hope they can resuce them.
Well, let's see what next week brings. I feel like they're setting us up though, not sure of anxious feeling or is just nothing.

Some on /a/ have suspected that since it was a low budget, low priority anime, orange (the studio) got to keep everything in house. So you have the animators, sound technicians, story-boarders and directors all working together and that's about 30 people I think. Keeping it small and tight and not lending out anything to outside companies made sure that everything produced works well together.
It's always a problem when sound is developed by one company, seiyuu's record their lines at another and the animation is done by another company. Having it all under orange allows them to see what works and what doesn't and make changes easily.

It would be hard to not storyboard I think, considering that it's all animation in the end. They do also occasionally use 2D animation, like in close-ups. The most notable scene with 2D animation I can remember is that one with Kongo getting changed.
