Chromium is deblobbed chrome. That means it doesn't contain certain proprietary media protocols, googles custom version of flash, googles custom pdf viewer, etc. AFAIK everything else is the same.

Chromium may be free software but that's why we have the confirmation it indeed is botnet. Same for SJWfox.

Try icecat, palemoon or iridium.
