VLC bugs

Anyone begin to encounter numerous bugs after the Vetinari 3.0 release with Windows 7 (I'm using x64)? VLC is constantly crashing and exhibiting other quirky behaviors. Many times, it will crash when opening a video. A few times, it wouldn't start at all, so I opened task manager to see probably 15 or more instances still running which had to be terminated individually.

It used to be such a reliable player, but it's constantly failing me anymore. Let me know if you have similar experiences.

OP here. I just installed 2.2.0, the last release before 3.0, and I am encountering no crashes so far (with 3.x, it was nearly every time I opened a video).

Still, I always like to have the most recent software, so any advice on what I need to do to get 3.x to work would be swell.

I've made the change to mpv. Only thing I miss is better navigation for DVDs.

Hey slowpoke, try installing mpc-hc, smplayer or mpv.

Theres no reason to use this old bloated piece of shit.

VLC comes with built-in CIA spyware and we know this is true because of the Vault 7 leaks.

It's the only media player worth using.

For all platform.

VLC unironically just werks. Last time I used mpv on my Ubuntu system it froze everything until I hard-resetted (restarted?) my computer. They should develop it at least 2 years before shilling it again.

>>965290 (OP)

Install MPV or one of its you-friendly GUIs like smplayer, fag.

 No.967400

>>965290 (OP)

Install mpv.

>>965878

it's probably a Ubuntu's problem, since I have used mpv for past three years, without encountering any freezing problems. Install a proper distro, like Debian or Gentoo.
