Do you think that falls within the original spec and intention of unicode? I personally think that if they have gay couples and skin tone modifiers they should also have IR couples. But the best result would be keeping everything abstract. So each emoji would be genderless/raceless. Looking forward to hear your opinions.

It's a slippery slope. Next they'll want interracial gay and lesbian couples, and then a codepoint for age differences, and then to represent all the different races. Fuck that shit. Just use zero-width-joiners and modifiers the way they're designed and leave implementation details on the font designers. This does not need a unique codepoint.
