They're both really bad and slow and ugly too.

I use GNUSTEP becuase it supports transient Services.

KDE because it's better than GNOME in every way. One special thing worth mentioning is that I don't need to clone GNOME git master to get current version gnome-shell.css, then put it inside custom theme folder and finally enable themes with gnome-tweak-tool just so I can adjust GNOME shell default font size from 11 to 9 without breaking anything else.

i have a few programs installed that use GTK+, but none for QT right now (but ill probably replace pcmanfm with dolphin again for the sake of cycling my poisoins). does this answer your question?

I use KDE because

>more consistent in its style

>have more features

>more customization

>more lightweight on memory than GNOME

>Qt is easier to develop with than GTK and have better development environment like QtCreator

>nothing is focused for tablet use like in GNOME and some GTK programs

Only thing I would want is a good browser but with Qt, but firefox works well enough and blends in good enough.

The ability to highlight text or objects in any program and feed them in any other program regardless of context.

In NeXTSTEP and OSX, programs can register certain functions of themselves in an SQL database and they'll show up in the Services menu.

In MacOS for example, you can highlight text in any window, webpage, or application and select the dictionary service or the Text-to-Speach Service, or if you have a spellchecking service installed than it can provide spellchecking squiggles and suggestions into any program.

It can do a lot more than text of course but it's integrated across all programs in a way that no other toolkit provides.
