>GitLab
Much better than GitCuck, so if you are going to recommend something to normies recommend GitLab. It get's a C[1] from GNU so that's a passing grade (and acceptable enough to host GNU projects), but there are a few details that need to be ironed before it gets a ironed out[1]:
<All JavaScript code served to the client is free, but does not work with LibreJS enabled. (B0)
<Encourages bad licensing practice, including no license; failure to state the license on each source file; and failure to say which GPL versions apply. (B2)
Again, it's a googoplex times better than GitCuck, but not quite "perfect" yet.

Seriously people, study what the Linux kernel contribution process is like. It's like math: you show the maintainer what your patches are doing and why, step by step, until you arrive at your desired solution. The commit messages must be clear and explain your thought process or your shit gets rejected because nobody wants to be stuck maintaining your shit code later on. > The login system gets deleted and replaced by a Microsoft ID thing that prioritizes your Microsoft username over Github's username system, resulting in everyone having their @names taken away by random name squatters belonging to a 6 year old, unused Outlook account.
> At the same time, Github support gets outsources to Microsoft Support, which is already outsourced to the most rural parts of India, resulting in @name restoration requests recieving "I'm sorry, Sir. I am unable to do the needful." responses.
> A few months later, following a rather cryptic announcement by Microsoft regarding plans to "improve enterprise issue tracking", everyone suddenly finds Github's issue tracking system being replaced with an <iframe> reading to Microsoft's new, revolutionary Office 365 issue tracking system that serves an ample amount of 503's and has an average latency of 6 - 18 seconds. But don't worry, purchasing Github 365 Premium resolves all these problems, at an affordable $99 per year per repo.
> A few months after that, Microsoft's CEO announces that he "understands the frustrations" of the new Office 365 issue tracking system, especially when hosting multiple repos. Therefore Microsoft is now rebuilding Github to be leaner and better, and offering better Office 365 integration. This is followed by yet another announcement on Github's website that they are changing how repos work. Free account users can now only have 1 repo per account, "to avoid unnecessary resource usage, ensuring that Office 365 issue tracking will work better than ever", as the announcement put it.
> A year later, Microsoft announces an exciting new look for Github. The only problem is that it requires JavaScript. A lot of JavaScript. So attempting to access Github with JavaScript turned off simply presents you with a blank page saying "Please turn on JavaScript" with a sad octopus next to it. In the same announcement they also quickly mention that free account users can no longer use use "external apps" to get or push things to/from their repo. The only solution is to upgrade to Github 365 Premium, or use a "Microsoft Certified App", such as Visual Studio 2019, for development.
> Yet another year later Microsoft announces proudly that Github is now part of Office 365, ensuring that every enterprise will have their own, integrated, simple source code managing tool. No other info is given, aside from marketing buzzwords talking about SUCCESSFUL and REVENUE. Free users is suddenly presented with a "This account does not have an active Office 365 subscription. Click here to buy." when they attempt to login. Attempts at backing up or migrating their account fails with 403 errors, since you now need an Office 365 subscription to access any Github page.

>ribbon has nothing to do with coding
The CoC is just as, if not more important than any algorithm. The ribbon allows the fat walruses in your HR department to easily highlight and emphasize important parts of the CoC.
I think Microsoft needs to introduce a Microsoft Word Rich Source format, so we can have word processing edits stored in source code. Certain algorithms could be triggering, and thus included in a smaller size. Also, contributions by POC need to be emphasized, so they should be in bold, and in larger sizes so they're no longer "hidden figures". This is so important that the new Github Enhanced Ribbon will create high paying senior engineer supervisor jobs for the purpose of applying much needed corrections to historic code imbalances. Think of the possibility, a rich code format could bring, code is soooo much more than just computer algorithms, it's a rich, very human experience that requires the tender care of many collaborating communities across the spectrum. In today's crusty old plain text formats, you can't even include photos or as >>924638 said, selfies in the comments. We need to change that.

After you submit your code to github, it will then send that over to an azure server, compile it for your chosen hardware, sign it, then send it back to github, where you can download it.
Every company will be doing this within the next 10 years, but expect to see Apple do it in 5 years once they get rid of the Macintosh product line and replace it with large iPads.

For a decade? Really? What was going to replace? The flip phone? The PDA? There is undeniable proof now that it is far better for business interests to abandon desktop platforms in favor of mobile ones. Consumers have abandoned the desktop, and many current desktop users are currently moving over to mobile. There is no disputing that. The problem are the niche like yourself. What will happen to you is that no new software will be developed for your platform. You will slowly be required to use apps instead of websites (already is happening with things like instagram) to connect to any network. What you will be left with is likely no network access outside the mundane that you and your friends put together. Let's face it. You and your friends will get bored of that really quick and just accept using mobile like everyone else.

They already are. Did you not see the glut of available video cards last year and this year? That isn't because of miners. That's because NVIDIA and AMD focused more on providing to mobile, console, and other embedded markets than providing for the desktop. The miners just happened to show how devestating the scarcity was. If those companies had thought their cards were going to be used for mining, they would've produced additional cards to meet expected demands for the mining and pc gaming markets. These companies are already switching. You haven't been looking or don't want to look though.

Actually billion dollar kike owned industries are going to stop producing hardware so everyone is forced into using the latest apple crap and jewgle botnet and not free desktop stuff like linux as a choice that isn't backdoored. Letalone those libreboot desktops that are a nightmare for the NSA. That's why the kikes have told/forced hardware companies to stop creating desktops/laptops and desktop/laptop parts. There are a great many desktops/laptops that are completely botnet free down to the proccessor level for software. But there is literally only one phone, the samsung galaxy S2, that is free down to the proccessor level for software. Of course the hardware has backdoors ala specter, but the kikes want literally everything to be botnet like on phones of cy+4.

I told you how, start working on free hardware. Jewtel, AMD, ARM, IBM, nvidia, samsung, apple, jewgle, and imagination technologies are kike ran. So create your own company and release the steps for building the software and or hardware anonymously when it is completed. Like how the Z80 specs are widespread/easy to access.

Until there are people who will fork out tens or hundreds of millions of Dollars to develop these open hardware solutions, no real competition will develop. Hobbyist intrigue will always be hobbyist intrigue until actual money is invested and grows the effort.
Think about it, how many tens or hundreds of thousands of people, maybe even millions of people if considering the entire world, want desire need an open solution? Are those multitudes going to deposit $1, $5, $10,000 to see something done?
If they pooled their money together, and let's be generous, say 10,000 people that have $10,000 desposable annual income, if they pooled all that together it would amount to $100,000,000. Now, how many jobs would that create, how much market influence would that attract, how much difference would that create, how much better would things be, how much more control would actual users have over their hardware and software?
That's only 10,000 people. What if there are 1,000,000 but they only have $50 desposable annual income? That's still $50,000,000. That's still jobs, influence, difference, betterment, control.
All it takes is a choice to act. Inaction is still a choice. This is the future we choose.

Intel fucked up by playing fast and loose in their designs, so now they're going to lose some customers. Their best interest was to keep everything quiet and then the cianiggers could have used those holes for their nefarious purposes. But that's history now, the cat's out of the bag. You are not quite getting what I am pointing at. I don't mind mobile users myself, they can do what they want. What I do mind is corporations forcing me to sign each and every one of my binaries with their keys so I can run my own programs that I wrote on the hardware the I own. I don't want this. This is why I say this is the future we choose and not this is the future we chose. The future isn't here yet. Anons have proved time and again they can make changes in society, and that includes without much sacrifice on an individual anon's part. If we choose inaction, we will live in the world without open hardware with which we can program and run how we want. If we choose action, we can create whatever we want and have fun while doing it. That's my point. Understanding business trends gives us a glimpse of what kind of battle we are preparing ourselves for. We can choose to battle, or we can concede and lose by default.
