Anyone here certified?

I'm thinking of going for pic related since I only have one class through the summer. Any tips appreciated.

Let's have a cert thread!

I'm thinking of going for pic related since I dropped out of college.

Any suggestion on getting a virginity cert?

Working on my CCNA right now, after that I intend to get Linux+ and Security+ out of the way. Not sure where to go from there.

>being competent enough to be certified in anything

no, certs are gay and pointless. literally just read a tutorial on how to program and join your local hipster startup that scams money out of the government, kickstarter and whatnot.

 No.902066

>>902058

passing tests and being competent is two different things nigga

 No.902136

>>902065

nigga just by having it you can increase your pay and are guaranteed work.

>nah don't do this thing that increases your job prospects, just like get a job instead lol

You've never had a job, have you? Certs (and a lot of school tbh) has literally nothing to do with learning. It's entirely about getting you a job.

 No.902237>>902294 >>902393

>>902220

no i just explained how i got a "software engineering" job without getting any certs or any bullshit. your response is cringy and just indicates you're not competent enough to get a job without going through bullshit like getting certs or diplomas

 No.902241

>not getting java certified

 No.902294

>>902237

You explained a scenario of getting lucky. Not everyone lives in Commiefornia or whatever fag land you live in where these hipster startups are common.

 No.902393

>>902237

I'll be laughing when I get paid more than you. Coding is the lowest form of work tbh.

>CCNA

What is the value of this cert these days? Apparently now you need to be at least CCNP to even hope for a janitor job at a datacenter.

 No.902491

>>902478

>now you need to be at least CCNP to even hope for a janitor job at a datacenter

Yep. At least CCIE R&S is desirable though

 No.902573

>>902053

I just got my CCNA in September, and >>902478 is sort of right, but it really depends on where you live. In my area there are still a lot of Sr and Jr Network Engineer/Admin jobs for CCNA.

You should lay out a plan for what you want to do though. I want to eventually get up to CCNP Security, so even though I just got my CCNA, I'm already studying for my CCNA Security.
