Depends. Some just allow you to view notifications, others allow you to set alarms and calendar events, others can answer calls, and even write messages (on awkward as fuck 2" screen).

Hell, most recent Lagdroid smartwatches can install apps from the Jewgle store to complement your botnetphone.

Beeing an interface to your smartphone is a good feature. It's about not need to take it out. Might be more interesting for some people, eg. with gloves in the cold.

They also can get your pulse all the time and store the data to check on your health.
