This must be a very uncomfortable position for Jewbrams. He probably thought he wouldn't have to wrap up any of the loose ends he created with his empty box of mysteries in TFA.

Lucasfilm desperately wants to complete their trilogy of ripoff movies because the original trilogy is permanently stamped by 20th Century Fox, so JJ must be their favorite guy in the world because he's been fully on board the shitty soft reboot train for years before Disney bought Star Wars. It seems to me that they're overestimating his ability to sell a movie now that the hype has died down so much.

Trevorrow must be lower in the hierarchy and therefore dispensable. I heard he even suggested that Lucas should take his job on Episode 9 a while ago so I suspect the root of the "creative differences" between him and Kathleen Kennedy was that he wanted to make a new movie rather than Return of the Jedi 2.

They'll then announce a new Indy trilogy, with Harrison being reduced to a minor role, instead focusing on Indy's daughter as the main protagonist, as well as John Boyega[sic?] as the romantic sidekick.

This seems like media spin to damage control his responsibility for that script. The reason I say this is because Chris Terrio is also the co-writer for Justice League, and the first cut of that film was so bad that it was deemed unwatchable.

It might be coincidence for a writer to put their name on a bad script once, but twice in a row and both for major blockbusters is suspicious. Episode IX could be his third dud in a row.
