to my knowledge, they put in the cross-guard saber that kylo ren uses, since that got put in rebels and is explained as having been around since the mandalorian wars and something related to malachor. that's all i know of.

i might also be confusing swtor with rebels, as i have no interest in either. but like i said, swtor is only still alive because disney hasn't ordered the plug pull yet, and they somehow still have an active player base. what's really sad is they are the last bastion of EU being produced, and once that ends it will cease to be anything but memories.

They didn't have a choice, seeing as how they lost a huge chunk of their subscribers within a year. What they need to do is make it a fully offline game and remove any group stuff, or make it co-op.
