it was your typical witty banter that's found in a star wars movie (another thing the new films lacked, but rogue one came closer to having than the fart awakens).

the only problem is that it was cheesy as hell and totally out of place for that scene.

George Lucas can't write or direct for shit. Empire and ANH were both written and directed by other people. That is why they are the best ones. George should have spent some money and hired the best writers and gotten a good director/directors, the prequels would have been epic. Instead we are left with massive plot holes, cringeworthy dialogue about hating sand, wooden acting and characters like Jar Jar Binks.

George wrote/directed ANH/PT (he had a co-writer on AOTC, most people forget this), and co-wrote and co-directed ESB/ROTJ. Mind you, he didn't receive any official writing credit for ESB or directing credit for ESB/ROTJ, but you go look up BTS shit or anything really, and they'll all mention that he had a huge presence on them. Also, George did editing on every SW movie except for TPM/ROTS.

If you want to know why the prequels suck just watch the Mr. Plinkett videos. I grew up with the prequels and was always fond of them and didn't understand the hate they were getting but after watching those videos on Youtube I realize just how shitty the prequels are.

I mean don't get me wrong I still like the action sequences, duels etc. but as far as advancing the Star Wars universe and effectively telling the backstory of Anakin and his fall to the dark side they failed on so many levels.

No they wont, for the simple fact that from a purely objective standpoint, the Disney films aren't interesting to look at and they have nothing original in them. If someone likes the sequel trilogy (I'm going to avoid the people who purely like it for the social justice shit) that means they'll like the original trilogy even more since the sequel trilogy is just a ripoff of the originals.

You may hate the prequels, but they are very different than the original movies (probably why you hate them) You fail to understand why some people are arguing in defense of the prequels, it has nothing to do with being a contrarian.
