>Darth Vader’s final scene in Rogue One was added during reshoots

>“What was added --- and it was a fantastic add — was the Vader action scene, with him boarding the ship and dispatching all those rebel soldiers,” Gilroy tells Yahoo Movies. “That was something conceptualized a little later. It was a really great punch in the arm and something I think fans wanted to see.”

WHERE ARE THE REBEL SPIES

Why has nobody been able to achieve the single required thing for a Star Wars movie. That being that it doesn't contradict, and thus make worse, the original classics. Every single one has just added hundreds of questions and inconsistancies that were never there.

In this case, why does episode 4 refer to REBEL SPIES and not a giant fucking invasion that happened minutes before.

>"Commander, did I really just tell her the plans were beamed aboard by rebel spies? I meant to say that I witnessed her crew shoving the plans through the door of her starship on a floppy disk. She must think I'm a complete idiot now."

If you really want to rustle Disneyfags, remind them that Rogue One is a fourth prequel.

>the original ending was just the main characters all dying, there was no stupid Princess Leia ending

Yeah, the reshoots were shit. The Vader scene is cool, but only the first time you see it. If you think about if for more than a minute you realize how stupid it is.

Between this and cutting "Ayy Rebel" from the movie, I suppose Disney was right to add the reshoots. Then again, they didn't see fit to cut out that weird part with the psionic octopus. Wonder if it had something to do with Forest Whitaker.

unlike jyn's "i'm a stronk wymn and there's nothing u can do about it u sexist pig" moment, the anime octopus had some relevance to the film.

>he doesn't want there to be aliens in Star Wars movies

How did you escape reddit?

Once the nostalgia and awesomeness of this scene wore off I realized that this is just another PC, Jewified Disney abortion of Star Wars with a ridiculous Mary Sue protagonist and unnecessary, forced diversity. Both those Asian dudes were pointless characters and that one fat Asian guy repeating that shit about being strong with the force at the end was absolutely cringeworthy. The Mexican (or whatever the fuck he was) guy was uninteresting and boring as fuck as well. They also managed to fuck up a good concept, that big imperial droid thing, by turning it into a big joke. Basically they made it into 3PO talking about odds and shit. (how original you Disney faggots)

I guess this movie was better than The Force Awakens but that isn't saying much at all.

I remember hearing that Edwards was originally willing to compromise and have characters survive for a sequel, but Disney actually gave him the go ahead to kill them all.

You can tell a lot of deaths got added in reshoots simply because of how ridiculous they are. The two asian guys managed to dodge a shit ton of enemy fire until suddenly they don't. Mexican guy and Ayy Rebel step outside into the blast zone instead of looking for cover. Imperial dude is ok until it turns out grenades can apparently blow up whole ships now.

I completely hated most of the cast, but a lot of them felt like they really did have their character arcs just abruptly cut short. Having someone go on about the force and have a saber crystal and then having them die with nothing coming of it is unsatisfying in the extreme. Likewise if you're gonna set up Mexican guy as being a huge unlikable team killing dick and then try to bring it back it helps if you give him a scene where he does something actually good instead of just running around with the main characters.

You could probably change most of that just by reshoots again, ironically, but it's still unsatisfying if someone's a dick through the whole movie then gets marginally better five minutes before they die for reasons that have nothing to do with their arcs.

honestly, i enjoyed the movie, but am annoyed by how obvious it is that character development got seriously shafted. half the cast should have been cut out, the "rogue one" crew should have been realistically no more than nu-kyle, nu-jan and the droid. maybe one more guy, either the sand nigger pilot or donnie yen, but no more than that. the first half hour should have been the prison planet, iRebel and jedha. they could have told nu-jan's background through dreams, like how it initially opens up with her in the prison. after that, throw some background in for nu-kyle and the fourth guy. the droid could be kept the same for the most part, since his dialogue pretty much explains his situation, though the comedy writing definitely needed some help.

While the scene makes no sense in the grand scheme of things its ironic the movies strongest scene was just a bunch of nobody's dying to Darth Vader. No feminism or shoehorned in diversity, really makes you think.

Why does the empire check the main computer to see if the plans are in it? If it was manually delivered.

Sorry that I don't think Rogue One was a flawless masterpiece like you, anon.

I thought Rogue One was a forgettable movie, better than TFA, but not close to any of the 6 actual Star Wars films. Your complaint was that there was a squid alien, the movie was not bad because of an alien, it was bad because of the characters and the lackluster plot.
