>When you get to her house there’s a small crowd of people standing on the lawn.
>You’re barely out of the car for three seconds when she grabs you by the hand and drags you inside.
>She brings you to a bedroom in the back of the house where her mother is laying with a particularly tall Oni holding her hand.
>The Oni looks up from the ailing woman and her eyes widen when sees you.
“You actually managed to convince him, Sarah?”
>Sarah looks like she’s about to say something but you cut her off.
“I must examine the woman, please stand aside.”
>They do as you say and with a moment of concentration, you begin to examine the older woman with your mind’s eye.
>You manage to spot the problem almost immediately.
>It appears that she has contracted Demon’s Spite. A rare disease that only affects certain species of monster girls.
>After the diagnosis, you ask that Sarah go fetch a glass of freshwater.
>While she does that, you begin to gather energy from the ether and shape it by chanting in one of the many mystical languages that you know.
>you focus the energies into your staff and raise it up, touching the end to her forehead.
>You send the magic throughout her body, purging the disease and repairing some of the damage done.
>When you finish the woman’s eyes open, she looks around, dazed and confused.
“W-what happened?”
>She’s suddenly cut off when her daughter nearly tackles her.
“Mom! I was so worried that you weren’t going to make it!”
>Sarah looks like she’s crying again, but this time from relief rather than dread.
>You gently pry the crying girl off her mother and tell the woman to drink the glass of water that Sarah brought earlier.
“You’ll need plenty of rest for the next few days if you want to make a full recovery”
>You’re suddenly grabbed before you can say anything else and pulled into a bone crushing hug by the Oni, who also seems to be in tears.
“Thank you! Thank you so much for saving my friend!”
>She thankfully sets you down before you suffocate.
>You’re suddenly hugged again from behind by Sarah.
“Thank you so much mister wizard, I don’t know how I can ever repay you.”
>You gently pat her on the head and tell her that she won’t have to worry about that.
>As you leave towards your tower, you can’t help but get a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
>Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if you visited town more often.
