This is single-handedly the worst thread I've ever seen. At least "le troll hueh heuh" are noticeably ignorable. If OP was even the smallest bit informative, I could've been somewhat interested. This has almost been here a week and there's nothing to show for it. Could've gone to the QTDDTOT, but no. A perfectly good thread died for this. Autistic rant over.

I can say safely after spending my weekend playing the first game, Paradox blows it way the fuck out of the water.

I'm still going to play the rest and get a fully formed opinion, but while it's fun it's still "standard rpg maker game"-tier in terms of most design. It's also easy as shit even without using EXP boosts. I didn't even level my stats until I got to the advanced job and now I just blow the fuck out of everything with magic vibrators.

I also don't understand why you can enslave some common mobs but not all of them, but that's a less important point.

Again. It's fun, but it's not MGQ level in any way, in the first game in any case.

On that note I used the most recent link above for the download and it doesn't seem like it came with an english version of the one with 3 in the title, only some korean gook translation.

It's still better than ROBF. Both Paradox and the original VN trilogy. I like the ROBF games, but none of them are anywhere near as good as any MGQ.

I don't know if comparing a literal VN to an rpg is worthwhile, but Paradox is definitely better.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Paradox also had an astronomically larger funding poured into it either, so it might not be a completely "fair" comparison on that front either.

As weird as it may sound, I actually did enjoy the combat in the original MGQ trilogy. Balancing your skill points and buffs and health could be pretty fun during the more serious fights. Salamander + Daystar threw it all into the garbage, but even then being an unstoppable engine of destruction delivering JUSTICE around the world felt very satisfying at the time that you earn it.
