I like MGQ a lot though. Paradox is very likely to be one of my top favorite RPGs of all time when it's done. The whole series, including part 3, is full of cute girls aside from Alice and Tamamo. Even Amira, the mutant that she is, is charming to me because of her personality. I won't say that every design is a winner in my eyes, I've never been big on taurs, but I'm sure that they appeal to someone's taste.
What I've never gotten is why so many people make a big deal out of the abominations. In a game with over a hundred girls what's wrong with a quarter of them of being designed not to appeal to your dick? They're supposed to be disgusting to show that the enemy faction are a bunch of maniacs churning out abominations because they're crazy for science or just plain crazy. Some of the angels and chimeras may not have been cute, but I thought they were cool. Whenever a particularly disgusting one appeared, I knew it was all that more important for me to not lose. The whole world is being attacked by angels, you don't have time to be fucking everything you see anyway.
Ignoring the fuckability of the girls altogether, I also really enjoyed the plot and gameplay of the original trilogy. The writing may not have made it the next Planescape Torment or Ghost Trick, but it was an enjoyable ride from start to finish. As much as people hate Plansect for being full of Delphinus, the part where Luka royally screws the pooch because his chuunibyou got the best of him and ends up having to nuke everything as damage control is an especially memorable scene to me. The entirety of Heaven was a nonstop thrill ride as well. I came to the final boss fight without even touching my dick. All those friendship speeches, all those almost heroic sacrifices, your aunt lying about her special attack, the music, and even Ilias's design were top notch.
tl;dr I like MGQ.
