I think monsterization is alright if the woman monsterizes into something based on the strongest aspects of her existing self just with any lingering 3dpd traits removed.

I've honestly never read monsterization, at least as presented in the MGE, as a form of Identity death.

Think of it like this; you have bits of your personality, or your physical self, that you see as a weakness, right? Things you wish you could get rid of, or at least find some way to work around, because it feels like your life would be so much easier if that were the case.

Now imagine that you could be self-idealised in exchange for growing a prehensile tail. Even if you have that natural inclination against changing who you are, for fear that you could end up losing more than you gain, a case where you truly get to be everything you secretly wish you could be in exchange for losing literally nothing that makes up the positive aspects of your sense of self is clearly always going to be a positive experience.

I think it depends on what kind of monsterization it is. If it's a regular mutating monsterization, she would still be her old self with added instincts and heightened libido on top of it. If it's monsterization through possession, that's when she's no longer herself. Of course you could try to remind her who she is and go down memory lane with her, but it would turn out good in the end.
