This is true. We'd initially hold an immense amount of power, in the form of all of our conventional artillery. But that's a finite resource. No missile defense systems or ICBMs would work initially, because they rely on GPS. But we could probably reprogram them to work more like conventional artillery.

I think we'd also be able to build some heavily fortified strongholds that would be able to more or less indefinitely hold out. But eventually even those would no longer be needed. After some number of generations, we would have adequately explored and learned enough about the new world that we'd be able to adapt and survive.

I GMd a game that his a similar situation. The party had about a week to find as many powerful mages a possible before a meteor made planetfall. After gathering them they had all the mages cast telekinesis at max level focused through an avatar of the magic god and they managed to move it just as it was breaching the atmosphere.

There are more MG worlds than MGE that could be dropped into, but we'll keep on topic for the moment. MGE world hasn't shown any major conflicts in the canon that i'm aware of. You have a plethora of MGs that want to rape guys and make them husbands, and turn women into more MGs. But there hasn't been anything really said to be a force against this happening on a large scale. US would probably bunker down and war a bit, Canada would probably be fine, just buy them over with maple syrup or anything threatening within two miles of the border mysteriously has a hole in it.

Throw the continent into some of the other worlds with far more constant conflict though, like MGQ, we'd be fucked. the level of magic and ridiculous power would probably exhaust the arsenal, fuckers could just teleport into command locations and wreck shit.
