90144e (17) No.285364[Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

Hello, how's everyone doing?

I'm a random drawfag who likes going around various boards and cataloguing their board-tans, characters, etc., from /v/'s /v/tan and gamergate characters to the myriad /leftypol/ catgirls passing by the few /pone/ ponies, 5 /co/ mascots, ojou-s/a/ma and her Meidos, and so on.

A few months ago I made a thread here to be more informed about Ammit-chan, but IRL shit prevented me from following up on it. Upon suggestion from the Meta Thread (>>285361) I've decided to make a new thread, in order to try and get information again. So I hope you'll forgive me some newfag questions:

>The files I have saved show at least two other /monster/ characters, a Blemmyes girl and a giant car girl, who was made for when /co/ was doing the Wacky Races stuff. Is there any information on these characters, even colour references on them?

>I know there's also regular divine-like characters - Ammit-chan is a goddess, and there's a Mother Reitia, are there others? I know Ebola-chan is treated almost like an adopted board mascot as well, with Ammit even cameoing on Ebola's videogame.

>An anon had dreamed about Ammit-chan with a different design, where she didn't have the hippo elements and was dressed in Egyptian garb IIRC, months ago- does anyone have that post saved? I wanted to have drawn it back then but didn't manage to

>Finally, on a more personal note, my recent visit to /fur/ showed they consider aeromorphs to fall under their purview, even using one as a mascot. The drawing of the big car girl would indicate that cyborgs or robot girls are also considered under /monster/, or at least, the usual purview of /clang/ is considered /monster/ too. So what's considered the purview of this board, by this point- would "human-appearing (in its majority) girl with supernatural qualities" be a good descriptor? So something like a witch or a ghost or a giant fall into this board, while something like Miranda from Wakfu falls on /fur/?

Actually now I wrote all this and mentioned /clang/, I'm thinking I might have some wires crossed- I could swear the giant car girl was /monster/'s, but she's probably /clang/'s, isn't she?

I'm also attaching the sprite sheet I'm doing for my own enjoyment- it's related to a vague idea for a Vivian James game I have (hence the enemies towards the bottom), but I've also been finding it useful to organise my cataloguing of characters. I've some space prepared to add further /monster/ characters, to the right of Ammit.

Sorry for the rambling wall of text, I should probably be asleep at this point.

90144e (17) No.285369>>285371 >>285383

I think I have all of "Blemmy"'s stuff saved. She's mainly just a specific type of monster girl that's also sort of referred to as a single character at times, kinda like how there are multiple Yoshis.

>>285369

Other than what you posted in the OP, this is basically all the content of her. She was originally drawn for us by "OPpenheimer", a drawfag /monster/ especially beloved that very quickly drew us a lot of entertaining images and new monster girls we liked and then disappeared.

Also, I suppose Ammit should end up looking a bit less "evil" in her sprite, and maybe make her more cheerfully smug. Also, I think I know what dream you're talking about, pic related. Others who may have dreamed about her may also be able to give some other similar but perhaps also slightly different descriptions.

I've yet to think how I want to reorganise the board, might at least dump my folders of images there.

Incidentally, the yeti selling lemons here is also the one in the bottom right, isn't she? Is she also a specific character? She seems to have a specific design.

I wonder if it'd be possible to turn shitpost-tan into a monster girl sprite for this somehow.

Also, come to think of it, you might be able to add these two girls for the /texas/ section of your spritesheet. They were the other two candidates that OPpenheimer pitched to /texas/ as potential mascots.

Hmm. Being that they don't have colours (and in the armadillo's case don't have the rest of the body), that might be an issue. Thanks for posting them regardless though

You're welcome, though looking up the coloring of armadillos and bluebonnet flowers might give you an idea of how to handle things.

Some more stuff:

If/when you insert the red oni from: >>285599 , the only name she's really ever been given is "Onibroette", so I suppose you can go with that. In terms of other taken monster girls that are especially significant to /monster/, there's Lorkha, the orc in this first pic, and Mimi, the cheshire that's, well, summarized through the rest of these pics. Try to make sure you put in that detail in her hair (the column of bows) that's different than other cheshires. She also apparently has sorta thick thighs according to her the one who first wrote about her (though obviously not as thick as Ammit's).

>Try to make sure you put in that detail in her hair

I'm not sure I'll manage to convey that in the space of about 6 px tall her hair will be, but I'll give it a shot

The art style on the first image reminds me, what about this counterpart to Kek, is this a thing?

>counterpart to Kek

That's a portrayal of Kauket. The Ogdoad consisted of 8 deities, Kek and Kauket included. Though it's not certain that they're really brother and sister, they correspond to the same "element" (darkness). Egyptian lore would differ depending on place and time, so it's not 100% clear as to whether each of the 4 pairings in the Ogdoad are two aspects of the same being, or are husband and wife couples. However, Amun and Amaunet left the Ogdoad at a certain point in Egypt's history and then received worship like standard deities, so I would lean towards the latter.

And some things to keep in mind: the males in the ogdoad are portrayed as frogs, though the females are portrayed as snakes, which is why Kauket looks the way she does in that pic. I also forgot to mention that the reason why they're being referred to as twins in that one pic you posted is because there were certain other deities in Egyptian lore that were canonically married brother and sister couples, so it'd make sense for a husband/wife couple of the very same element to likely be one as well, even if it's not certain.

Additionally, after Amun and Amaunet left the Ogdoad, they were supposedly replaced by Niu and Niut respectively, who were gods of the void, or nothingness.

ac3dd2 (1) No.291099>>291135

>>291024

I'm pretty sure Kauket is Kek's female aspect, not just his sister/wife. The Ogdoad are primordial entities, being both male and female. There are 4 of them. But the male and female aspects are depicted seperately, making 8.

d535b8 (26) No.291135

>>291099

The thing is, what with how Amun and Amaunet ended up separate deities, it may very well be that Kek and Kauket are separate deities in the afterlife as well. Not that we can prove it just yet, but the point still stands.

You know, out of all the Ogdoad deities, I think Nun and Naunet, the water deities of the Ogdoad, might get along best with Ammit, since they correspond to creation of life, and Ammit is trying to bring monster girls into our world.

I remember we made this possible board-tan for /beauty/ way back before what seemed like a /fem/ rumor mill generated enough drama that the BO quit out of annoyance. Though she doesn't have any coloring either, I suppose that making the mermaid tail pink like what their board CSS used to be would make sense.

I just remembered there was a possible design for Heqet from Egypt's lore that was made long ago. You know, the fertility goddess that was Khnum's husband and had to do with the annual flooding of the Nile? She was basically supposed to be drawn as a mini-froggirl that carried around some sort of Egyptian stringed instrument so as to remind others of Kermit/The Rainbow Connection, especially considering her water-related connections. Heqet's imagery is constantly mistaken as being Kek's.

Given we have a new OC mamono, you might have a "seshenet" to add to your sprite list. I'm kinda hoping that we manage to exceed /leftypol/'s record of having the most characters on that list without becoming as bland as them.

Sorry I've been absent for ages, other things forced my attention lately. I'd like to take a while this weekend and produce some content here again, can anyone do a roundup of characters I've missed, then? >>295445 references a mamono and a seshenet (why's the latter in quotations? what's a seshenet?), there's >>293286, there's this >>291445 too which I'd love to see with colour (also was that drawn by Anaugi?). I miss anything?

Also why's Lain on the bottom right now?

0f0747 (4) No.301655

>>301650

Mamono is just the Japanese term for monster and a lot of anons here use it in place of "monster girl." The girl in the pic of that post got named a seshenet because of seshen having been the Egyptian word for lotus and -et having been a feminine suffix they used.

>Anaugi

Who? The image was drawn a long time ago either way.

Also, Lain's on the bottom right because the monster girl there is changed every now and then to keep things fresh, and Lain is technically a robotic goddess of sorts.
