Yeah, there's a reason for that. It's just a trailer and not an actual short film. it was an artistic experiment, they just created a fake theatrical trailer.
I wonder if this could catch on. Not comedy/parody trailers, which have been around forever, but people who just create trailers for the sake of creating a piece which elicits the emotional response an exciting trailer does. /trailercore/

there's a thick veil to be lifted. he's obviously putting on an act / leading a cult, essentially. nobody is completely honest or transparent, but charls is intentionally cryptic in order to garner and sustain an audience. this is his way of making a living, he can't afford to be boring. Charls, in pure form, is obviously still an odd and unique person, but he's embraced this characteristic of his to an absurd extent. A lot of people do this, tough guys act tougher in order to uphold their reputation, for example.
