Antiques has everything I like about MDE; the music, the barrage of relevant google images, the conspiracy talk, the subliminal wall of text, the comfy atmosphere of tagging along for early noon errands, racial slurs, etc.

It's not the best, but I love the KSTV trailer.
The tone and music makes it look like some kind of drama about a man descending into madness.

It was dead for awhile, then came back during World Peace and died again.
If Sam just made ANOTHER FUCKING MDE VIDEO rather than vlogs it'd probably come back. His vlogs are funny, but the actual MDE videos are better. The last one was Boston Ross, which was over a year ago.

I don't think there's one definitive, best video. Ideas Man is the best social commentary, An Inconvenient Anime is the best public performance, good day today park is the best vertical video, and MDE WHYPZ is the best video where they interview people(It's also the one that never fails to put me in a good mood.)
No.1768

I'd disagree there, 2070 was unreal.

No.1917
>>1916
Hotwheels hasn't been involved with the site for over a year.
Just taking a quick look over at the subreddit shows me they would rather talk about random retarded shit than MDE. There are already enough random and political boards on the site, /mde/ doesn't need to turn into another one.

I had a look at the place.
Taking in redditors in general is a bad idea, but they seem to dislike reddit and are more-or-less fishes out of water. Some of them seem cool, but I would rather they stay were they currently are.
/r/milliondollarextreme has got a very different vibe to it than we do. I've also seen some guys namedrop 8ch a few times, that ain't cool.
Back in the old days of 4chan there was a big unofficial rule (that was partially a deference to Fight Club but it was still a serious rule): do not talk about 4chan. This was followed for years until around '08 or '09 after a lot of newfags started swarming the place.
Just two years after the newfags rolled in and the site was fully embedded into mainstream internet culture. The newfags talking about 4chan on different sites lead to more newfags rolling in and more newfags talking about 4chan on different sites until it hit Eternal September circa 2010-2011.
Speaking long-term, 8ch will either go the way of most imageboards and die or go the way of 4chan and become cancer. Inviting people who seem to have no regard to keep their mouths shut will speed up the progression of Eternal September.
No.1936
>>1923
Best case scenario is Sam starts posting updates here but doesn't advertise it, that's not going to happen though. What is probably more likely is the mde subreddit getting shut down for hate speech in which case maybe some more people will come here, who knows, they might just go to voat.

I think 8chan will eventually die like most 4chan spinoffs. Already we're at the point where only a handful of boards are propping this place up. This whole site owes it's continuing existence to /pol/. All the porn boards started dying about a year or two ago, and the various hobby boards are super slow except for /v/.
No.2110
>>2109
8chan formed out of Wizardchan, not 4chan.
I've noticed some hobby boards get bigger and some get smaller. The site's traffic took a big dive in back during the whole Infinity Next fiasco and it's been slowly crawling back up since. /v/ used to get 3000 users, then it fell down to 2000 during INFNXT now it's back up to 2600.
>This whole site owes it's continuing existence to /pol/.
/v/ and /pol/ are really close in their active users and /v/'s average PPH is nearly a hundred posts higher than /pol/.

That's something I don't like about the newer vids. They're all Sam rambling on about some shit, no more well produced edits or cutaways. It removes a lot of the charm and personality the older vids have.
