Friend and I played under a guy for a couple months that I worked with that was terrible for that. Killing characters with no rolls on either side from dangers that weren't even mentioned previously.
When confronted on it, he just said that that's how all his GMs were when he was learning to play.

I've always been under the mindset to be flexible and make sure that the players are having a good time. That's really it. Doing that might be fine with one group, but with others they might not like it as much. It just depends on who's playing.

Hmm, players have generally had fun with games I play, but I'm really bad at dilligently doing preparations each week, so anything I ran that wasn't just "a session whenever we're all available to" has very quickly dropped off.

Nope, not once. Got to the final boss, or at least what I think is the final, a few times but have died.
Not sure I'd say "that" much content. It's a rogue game. So you can die easily just getting through it. Which adds up time.

I don't know, it can be a fun game when you get a good run going, but it can be a bit more frustrating in certain situations too, than other games of its type. Also, I feel sometimes it's really dependent on you getting enough attack ups, or else you don't feel like you're really doing a lot later on.

Any rogue game is fun when it's a good run! You get kind of bored with the the repetitiveness though. This one tries to help in a way, but eh. I focus on health a little more than strength, think it's what they call it, but strength is important too so you aren't fighting a common enemy for five minutes.

I was planning on making a father be the main character, and then have a young daughter type character be the follower.
EO games are really slow to start, at least for me. Takes a while before they get going.
Titanfall 2 also looked pretty neat. Hopefully midair lasts longer than legions: OD did. It has most of the Tribes: Ascend community backing it too, so I'm hopeful.

Any that work well with each other really. Like some effects will be "throws a flammable oil down!" which means if you have any fire based weapon, then combine them for damage. If you use any weapons with ammo then you want a secondary weapon, usually grenades do this, that say something like "takes 6 ammo from victim" or whatever. Basically ammo stays stuck in enemies until death unless you use those secondaries. Really helps with bosses.
Slow weapons or weapons with combos work so you can pull the full combo off. Which is only a few I can think of.
If you can keep combining bleeding effect items that would help too to stack bleeding.
So I kind of forgot they were called skills until just now, even though you said.

No, I didn't play the first. The 2nd caught my eye because of the singplayer campaign where you have your robot buddy.
Tribes was my main game for a very long time, I played it quite a bit.

So disregard my opinion because for some reason I've only played a some Morrowind, some Oblivion, but a lot of Skyrim.
I think I would like Morrowind better because it has some better complexity to its mechanics, but all the menus and such make it a pain. But then Skyrim makes it all too easy and simplified. So Oblivion in a way seems like a nice balance between the two.

I have had the blood sword that applied oil to the enemies which makes for a nice overtime damage effect.
Not much for the bows my self but some items count as bows none the less. Like a lightning bolt that if you do consistently enough it does a quick amount of crit damage, but if you keep it too long it damages you.
