About a military division (hanagumi, if I remember right?) that fights to protect the peace of the capitol city in mechs, but to hide their operations their base is disguised as a theater where they put on different performances, and the girls are the actors on stage.
The rough english translation really helps, my JP is still pretty garbage
The kanji in it is much simpler than that in Utawarerumono 2, so it's a bit easier, and in this I'm not constantly transcribing the script.
I really like it though, it's very charming and the art is cool.
SRPG elements are a little clunky, but that's expected. I've heard that it's much improved in the 2nd game.

I was really into the earlier Fire emblem games and Robot Taisen, but other than that I'm not too big on them either.
No furigana whatsoever.
But the level of reading is much lower, and uses less kanji. Although less kanji can be a little tough sometimes when you don't have a solid vocabulary..
I believe the game is being translated and patched on PC currently, I'd recommend trying it out whenever that gets released.
Music is also pretty good.
The main theme to the games are so catchy I find myself humming them all the time.

Fan patch, done by Iwakura productions I think is the name they're going by. Don't know how far it is along..
And I believe Sakura Taisen won the poll for "sega game you would like to see return the most", so there's hope there.

Looking at the list of games sting has developed, I don't think I've played a single one.
I think they should bring back Panzer Dragoon and Streets of Rage.
Sakura Taisen would be nice, but I don't know how much a VN-styled game would sell for sega. It probably wouldn't be financially worth it for them to do it.
I think the new sonic game is going to do that 2d switching with 3d thing, again? I don't know too much about sonic.
