New thread!
Hello and welcome back to our regularly scheduled program!
Now, that I have a break I can talk to you!
Are you currently enjoying your time off for the American posters?
Do you have anything planned for Thanksgiving?
What's your favorite food to eat?
For the European posters.
Hows school?
Are you almost finished?
Do you have any big plans for the upcoming break?
For everyone else.
How are you feeling?
Do you need anyone to talk to?
Or do you just want to talk?
Why not drop by and say hello?

Just feeling kind of shitty. It's kind of building upon something I'd mentioned previously. My friend circles before had always been friends of convenience, like I worked with them or went to school with them or something, and there was always at least one shitter, like, maybe they're just dumb, or a really big degenerate or something, and this is the first time I'm part of a group that I've kind of assembled independently of other obligations, and I just don't feel as if I measure up in this one, like, I must be the shitter. I'm not remotely as knowledgeable as some of the others, and I'm not as high-T as these guys, and I feel like I don't have any unique stories or insights, so I guess even though I really like them and get along well, it kind of hurts my self-esteem to be around.
▶ c9db9a (427) No.16384>>16385
>>16383
It isn't here is it?
Sounds like you're just too self-conscious of your actions and you're measuring their perceived successes against your own. You see yourself as the third wheel. It's hard to say when you're in a friend circle whether you're the third wheel or not. Generally, if that group perceives you as the third wheel they'll leave you out of their activities. If that's the case, then just drop them. Their not worth your time and energy. If they're including you in their activities and like having you around; then there's nothing to worry about. Just be yourself and don't try to let your thoughts overwhelm you and convince you that you can't measure up to their standards. They like you for who you are -if- they have you around.
But really, the key take away that I want to illustrate is that your thoughts can become your enemy and when you let the bad thoughts win you lose purpose.

>It isn't here is it?
lolno. I don't really feel out of my depth here.
It's not that I don't feel welcomed, or anything like that, I've been present for everything, and as I say, we all get along. I don't know, I just don't feel like there's any one way I excel out of these, and I can't help but compare myself to others.

It's the thoughts.
Basically, you have to keep your mind from wondering in that direction. If they enjoy you being around then there's absolutely nothing to worry about and you should keep being yourself.
They sound like a generous and welcoming crowd. Don't worry about your knowledge your strength. Just rejoice in their company and forget such lowly thoughts. This brings me to another question. Do you have a close friend?

Ah, soft friends.
School is not necessarily a great place to meet friends. Most of the people there have one objective and have they just happen to share common interest with you as you stated. If you want more real friends instead of seasonal friends I suggest joining a club or program at school. Many people with similar interest congregate in those clubs or program and it can be easy to make a long term friend. However, if you don't find anyone to your liking you can simply move on to another club. Yes, gaming can become quite consuming…If it eating your time?

I just looked it up and it seems like he's a amicable author.
Yeah, Enoch is rather tangential from the rest of the bible actually gives some insight into what heaven is like and how the angels rank. He even sees God on his throne. Though, if you read the first part of revelations it sort of reads like that. It becomes overly verbose when the angel starts describing the valleys and the sinners that belong there. It also gives a rather detailed description what happened to Cain and where he -currently- is. I managed to plow through about 3/4 of it and the angel showed him the tree of knowledge and I turned it off and switched to something else.
Nausea is about a French writer that has nothing to do other than write a novel and as he is writing he gives up and claims that his only purpose in his life was to write the book. Thus, he begins to question whether things existed and as he was looking at a painting he comes to the conclusion that nothing exist!
Interesting existential fiction book. Much better than stranger than fiction in my opinion. Although, he has a tendency to talk without stopping..

> Enoch is rather tangential from the rest of the bible
Most of the world doesn't consider it canonical at all, though some places do!
I was listening to them talk about it on an episode of the Para-normies. Very good podcast if you're at all interested in more occulty side of /pol/, where everyone bad is actually a Luciferian reptile.
I don't know if that really sounds interesting to me based on your synopsis, do you recommend it? A cursory google search shows it's relatively well regarded.
▶ c9db9a (427) No.16584

Technically it is canon since early Christians managed to translate and make over 8 thousand copies of that darn book. It's a rather short book and can be a snooze fest as he's flying with the angel and he's talking to the angel about the prisons and the mountains. But if you like the bible I would try it out!
It's also interesting that the angel talked about Jesus. Though, his name was not given and the end times before revelations and the Apocalypse of Paul!
Oh, Enoch is the father of Noah too!

I have yet to read the entire bible!
The book is filled with so much fluff that you have to be super dedicated about trudging through the lineages! Seriously! The Old Testament is a bore and then all sudden POOF! Nothing happens and then Jesus is born and then 20 years later nothing!
Uh, I read Heart of Darkness when I was in middle school. But how many books do you think I have read?

I've read around 120 books…Although most of them a crappy postmodernist fiction…I've been trying to pick up philosophy but I feel like you have to start from the very beginning to understand Nietzsche, Stirner and Hegel. Marx was rather palatable and certainly idealistic. I believe somewhere I have a copy of Communist manifesto…But, since I like history. I picked up several books about the history of Africa, the Spanish Civil war and the Chinese Civil war..I definitely want to read some modernist fiction like All Quiet on the Western front and the Green Hills of Africa.
Well, the saying goes: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So, I'd assume that I'm like you!

Oh, I've seen a few random episodes of House.
Didn't really grab me though..

Psvita?
Why are there so many games I want to play on that?
Maybe I should get a vita..
>>16707
I'll also recommend SMT:Strange Journey, Radiant Historia, and DQIX if you're looking for more RPGS.
Wouldn't that be considered prostitution?

It might be prostitution if you're above a C cup.

I don't even have boobs!

Exchanging money is probably a better idea since it's safer. Hmm, how was family Ran-sama?
Tolerable?

Yes, exchanging money is much better than exchanging other things.
Family was family.
Pretty much went as I expected most of the day, although it wasn't all bad.
I'm happy to be leaving again, though.

For the GBA, 999, Castlevania: Aria of sorrow, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town and the Mega Man Battle Network series were some of my favorites.
I've never actually owned one though, only emulators.
For the DS, probably Monster Hunter and the Etrian Oddysee franchise. There are a lot of good RPGs, though.

I don't really do black friday, although I am really eyeing a monitor.

The biggest one of the family.
It's not as bad as that sounds, though.
And I'm not really home, in a sense.
Ah, it's just a 24inch 144hz monitor. Mine's kinda old at this point. Wish they still made CRTs.

I have three at my house currently and they're barely used!
I need to nab a PS2 and a PS1 before I come back for Christmas so I can play my PS2 games!
Plus, I need a comfy chair to play in! There's only wood chairs here!
But why so small?
Buy a 50 incher!

I have a CRT computer monitor that I use for 4:3 PC games, and a CRT TV for my game consoles.
Just get a ps2, it can play ps1 games just fine.
Comfy chairs are important. Especially since I spend so much time in mine.
I like mine small
But really, I have nowhere to put a 50 inch monitor. also, my computer wouldn't be able to push more than 1440p, which is way too low a resolution for a 50 incher.
Also, I really want the 144hz.

I have a ye olde gateway in my garage!
But it's probably dead now. Why not just put filters on your games?
Some match the CRT monitor pretty well!
I sort of want both because I can listen to that awesome start up on the PS1!
Plus, I've been having issues with emulation on my PS3 for some reason!
▶ c9db9a (427) No.16740>>16741

Filters are disgusting, and wouldn't fix the issues I have with TN displays
CRTs have better refresh rates, response times, and colors, and better resolution options
Eh, why not get both. PS1s are cheap enough.
I've never used my ps3 for ps1 games, since I've had the ps2.
CRTs are love and I would do unholy things to get the really nice ones

I think I own around 6 different monitors at this point.
The nice ones I'm talking about were around $10,000 new, and are heavy, so you can't exactly ship them for cheap. Gotta find them offline.
