Hmm this is a rather interesting CYOA; quite different than others I've read, I like it. Puts me into a rather unique mood.
Cookie: Gingerbread.
I've never traveled much before but I love the outdoors, it's just the logistics that make me nervous about the idea. So knowing that no matter where I go there'll be somewhere safe to sleep, and food and drink to keep my belly full sounds amazing. The 'all access' side of it got me thinking about something else I could do while I was travelling to which leads to…
Desserts & Trinkets:
Taking the option here to trade a trinket and dessert in for another cookie I take the Regal cookie. With the combination of the two cookies I can go anywhere safely, and then share what I learn with the world. The plan would be to become the ultimate whistleblower, I'm not normally so altruistic with my CYOA choices, but something about this one got me in the mood for it, especially when I read the other options of this CYOA, such as…
Dessert 2: Grass Jelly.
I'm normally a sucker for pocket dimensions and the like, but since I'm going to be a whistleblower at least part-time I'm likely going to make some enemies… unless I'm not wearing my own face when I make the announcements. The Jelly allows me to create a whistleblower 'persona' to earn all that hate instead of the real me. Plus I'm also a sucker for shapeshifting :p
Trinket 2: Lucky Charm Bracelet.
Much as the above, knowing when I'm about to get myself in trouble, or when someone's out gunning for me will help keep me safe. The Bent Spoon would also work too, but I can be pretty clumsy, so I think the bracelet works better :p
Companion: Hou
This was a tough one, there are a lot of very cute, sweet girls here, Shu is just adorable and if I'd gone for my typical comfy/selfish build then I'd love nothing more than to scoop her up and cuddle and protect her but… the heroic 'try to make the world a better place' build I'm going for would not suit her at all. Hu is an adorable Tsundere, and I love those, Tu is adorable and snuggly, but Hou is not only super cute, but also would be a genuine partner on this journey of exploration and world-improvement and I suspect help keep me on the right path, and become a better person.
Price: Blind
As for the price… there's a few that could have worked, shunned I know I'd hate to lose my family, even if they can be frustrating at times… HOmeless, Amnesia and Forgotten could all work too but… I think having to rely on Hou for a year would help humble me and get me in the right mindset before we went out on our journey, not to mention getting to know each other better. Blindness has always felt like one of the worst loss of senses to me but… knowing it was temporary and that I had Hou there would make it bearable :)
