Saw this cyoa on halfchan a while back and everybody was talking about how creepy industrial decay was, so I made a /comfy/ build for it.
>Industrial decay
obviously. It's the basis of the build
>Subarctic
It's pretty chilly here, which is good since all the metal would get hot in the sun otherwise. Think Russia for a good idea of what it's like, with its cold winters and cute fuzzy hats
>Volcano
It's said that back when this place was up and running, the volcano powered it all. Nowadays the fire-mountain isn't used as much as the hotsprings it makes
>Mountains
It's often hard to tell if you're high up because of a natural mountain, or if they just built that structure that tall
>beachfront
More like docks for the most part, but still good for sunbathing in the summer months
>islands
Smaller complexes dot the surrounding ocean. May or may not actually be oil rigs
>Cave systems
They mined for resources very deep; the caves go for miles
>Tower Lodge
There's a functional lift that everybody uses to get up and down the building. It's actually pretty amazing, the view from the top. The complex stretches out for miles in every direction
>Town center
The factory as a whole may not work anymore, but the people still do! The town center is a bustling marketplace with people going to and fro, and there's even some working machinery there!
>Inviting Pendant
It's a very friendly community in general, with everybody making the best of what they have. There's always somebody willing to share a pint
>Soft Blanket
Good to have on the cold winter nights
>Fur Mantle
Seems I have a natural affinity with animals, which is nice since the mail is mainly delivered via pidgeon
>Endless expanse
I'll be honest with you, the people who built the factory… didn't seem to care much about earth. They stripped clean of all that had any worth and now this is all that's left. But hey, what's left isn't so bad
>Blacksmith
Blacksmiths are always needed. They scrap anything that's falling apart and use it to make supports for the things still standing. The industrial complex is actually far from decaying in a sense, it's a living, changing thing.
>Floating island
Huge platforms roam the skies, suspended with some long forgotten technology. It's theorized that this is what made building these megastructures possible, though nowadays they're mainly used as farm-lands, since they offer a wide flat area that's almost always in the sun wherever it goes
>The old castle
It's said that the whole village used to be owned by a single man who lived here. Now it's one of the more popular spots to explore, due to its relatively safety and abundance of mysteries even after all these years
>cloud tower
In a society so reliant on breaking down old machinery, the people are understandably wary of anything that still moves.
>Crystal cavern
Whatever they were looking for in the mines, apparently it wasn't these big beautiful crystals that are so abundant down there
>smug loli
A total tomboy due to having so many brothers, she can be anywhere at anytime due to being a parkour master and knowing all the "shortcuts" everywhere. She's willing to teach me, but I have to go at her pace
>catacomb depths
The tunnels under the village contain many mysteries. Some should stay that way
>city ruins
The factory was made to support the city, but nobody lives there anymore. There's a reason for that, but for now just know that it's not worth the trip out there
<…but on the bright side
>Siren overlook
After spending enough time with the girl, she trusts you enough to show you her secret, special place: An out of the way balcony that's just the right distance away from everything that the rhythmic thrums and whistles of what little working machinery there is makes a sort of music. Nothing you can dance to but it's surprisingly soothing
>Nostalgic chief
He was impressed at my supposed ability to keep the little girl out of trouble, as she had been quite the mischief-maker (likely starved for attention with such a huge family), so we started hanging out. Eventually he entrusted me with…
>yellowed book
Since the city changes so much, it sometimes becomes too much for him to keep up with. With my habit of exploring, and since I'm part of the reconstruction team, he figured I'd be a good person to trust with the log book. It's actually pretty fascinating to look through, since it also details random events and even festivals, of which there seem to be a lot this village holds
>Christmas cake
She's cute, ya?
Feels like this isn't quite as good as what I had originally made, but I can't quite remember all of what my build was. Oh well
