Architectural Style would also vary for each village The Capitol would be Hellenic; the Islands would have Rural Japan; The Plains along the River would have Gothic Parish; the Mountains would have Industrial Decay; the woodlands would have Northern European Vernacular. I'm trying to think of names for each town based on their architecture and their real world counterparts, really kinda hard

File: 8c5c603b07d2735⋯.jpg (2.18 MB, 1448x1024, 181:128, industrial industries.jpg)

Saw this cyoa on halfchan a while back and everybody was talking about how creepy industrial decay was, so I made a /comfy/ build for it.

>Industrial decay

obviously. It's the basis of the build

>Subarctic

It's pretty chilly here, which is good since all the metal would get hot in the sun otherwise. Think Russia for a good idea of what it's like, with its cold winters and cute fuzzy hats

>Volcano

It's said that back when this place was up and running, the volcano powered it all. Nowadays the fire-mountain isn't used as much as the hotsprings it makes

>Mountains

It's often hard to tell if you're high up because of a natural mountain, or if they just built that structure that tall

>beachfront

More like docks for the most part, but still good for sunbathing in the summer months

>islands

Smaller complexes dot the surrounding ocean. May or may not actually be oil rigs

>Cave systems

They mined for resources very deep; the caves go for miles

>Tower Lodge

There's a functional lift that everybody uses to get up and down the building. It's actually pretty amazing, the view from the top. The complex stretches out for miles in every direction

>Town center

The factory as a whole may not work anymore, but the people still do! The town center is a bustling marketplace with people going to and fro, and there's even some working machinery there!

>Inviting Pendant

It's a very friendly community in general, with everybody making the best of what they have. There's always somebody willing to share a pint

>Soft Blanket

Good to have on the cold winter nights

>Fur Mantle

Seems I have a natural affinity with animals, which is nice since the mail is mainly delivered via pidgeon

>Endless expanse

I'll be honest with you, the people who built the factory… didn't seem to care much about earth. They stripped clean of all that had any worth and now this is all that's left. But hey, what's left isn't so bad

>Blacksmith

Blacksmiths are always needed. They scrap anything that's falling apart and use it to make supports for the things still standing. The industrial complex is actually far from decaying in a sense, it's a living, changing thing.

>Floating island

Huge platforms roam the skies, suspended with some long forgotten technology. It's theorized that this is what made building these megastructures possible, though nowadays they're mainly used as farm-lands, since they offer a wide flat area that's almost always in the sun wherever it goes

>The old castle

It's said that the whole village used to be owned by a single man who lived here. Now it's one of the more popular spots to explore, due to its relatively safety and abundance of mysteries even after all these years

>cloud tower

In a society so reliant on breaking down old machinery, the people are understandably wary of anything that still moves.

>Crystal cavern

Whatever they were looking for in the mines, apparently it wasn't these big beautiful crystals that are so abundant down there

>smug loli

A total tomboy due to having so many brothers, she can be anywhere at anytime due to being a parkour master and knowing all the "shortcuts" everywhere. She's willing to teach me, but I have to go at her pace

>catacomb depths

The tunnels under the village contain many mysteries. Some should stay that way

>city ruins

The factory was made to support the city, but nobody lives there anymore. There's a reason for that, but for now just know that it's not worth the trip out there

<…but on the bright side

>Siren overlook

After spending enough time with the girl, she trusts you enough to show you her secret, special place: An out of the way balcony that's just the right distance away from everything that the rhythmic thrums and whistles of what little working machinery there is makes a sort of music. Nothing you can dance to but it's surprisingly soothing

>Nostalgic chief

He was impressed at my supposed ability to keep the little girl out of trouble, as she had been quite the mischief-maker (likely starved for attention with such a huge family), so we started hanging out. Eventually he entrusted me with…

>yellowed book

Since the city changes so much, it sometimes becomes too much for him to keep up with. With my habit of exploring, and since I'm part of the reconstruction team, he figured I'd be a good person to trust with the log book. It's actually pretty fascinating to look through, since it also details random events and even festivals, of which there seem to be a lot this village holds

>Christmas cake

She's cute, ya?

Feels like this isn't quite as good as what I had originally made, but I can't quite remember all of what my build was. Oh well

While I don't want it to turn into Murder Hoboism, I feel like there's enough fucked up shit, just under the skin, that it's probably gonna go down like some Call of Cthulu shit. Wandering God, Decay City Ruins

Valhallbrach, the sign outside of the gates said as I arrived. I didn't know where I was, nor how I got here, but I could grasp some things. First it was cold and this place was certainly unusual, pipes being almost randomly aligned and the wall being seemingly consisting of rusty metal. This was rather tame in comparision with the floating islands and that highly Primeval forest that seemed to harbor creatures long gone… Where there some bright eyes gaping from it just now? I'm certain they just were…

Accepting that I should stop standing around and do guesswork and instead go into the town, I walked towards the game with a quick step.

Once arrived, I saw that there was a guard post and went to it.

"Excuse me, but can you help me? I have no idea where I am." I asked him

"Hmm? A foreigner…" the man murmured.

He showed nordic features under his helmet.

"Hmm… Can you give me your name? I need to check something." he asked after a short pause.

While this was a bit weird, I answered his question.

"I see… Hmm… Ah, here it is." he rummaged through a document folder and pulled out a document which he gave me, "You were assigned a home here, take these and go in Valhallbrach, someone will take care of you there."he said and sent me inside.

The document had a map included and was indeed assigned on my name, which was weird, but getting to a place safer than the freezing land with unknown beings walking around sounded like a pretty good plan in my book.

The inside of the town looked like a mixture of Steam- and Dieselpunk with a general industrial theme through it, altough a lot of it was broken. At the very least, it was warmer inside than outside and the walls seemed pretty thick, so the things wandering outside would STAY outside.

I turned around and watched upwards, but there was nothing.

Right?

Anyhow, I probably should find that house and wait for that "caretaker", maybe that one could answer my questions, so I went to the tower as instructed.

There were a moderate amount of people on the street, clothed differently from me, they wore Uschankas and heavy, ornate coats that looked like a mixture of nordic and slavic culture.

Most of my Path went through underground subways, where I saw what caused the innertown to be warmer: Great Boilers that heat fluids, probably for industry purposes.

I went into the subway and came out at the station, walking a bit through the underground subways until I arrived at an elevator that led to the part where the map told me to go.

Once aboveground, it wasn't long until I arrived at the place the map lead me too: I stood before an iron tower, a bit rusty and fitting in the rest of the city.

The inside of the tower was warm, another elevator brought me up to the top where I found a sizeable indoors, with doors for a bedroom, bath, kitchen, living room, storage room, etc.

I wonder what the future will hold.

Hellenic Seaside Architecture in a Mediterranean Climate. Dominated by beachfront realestate, untouched islands (including a volcano), and natural coral reefs backed up against an untamed wilderness(woodlands) which ends in a drop into a seemingly eternal abyss. In the cozy beachfront/stilt cabin on the border of the village itself, you find a trove of items; a shiny marble, strangely inviting pendant, a pale ring, a rusted dagger, and set of bronze bracelets.

Enjoy life as a fisherman, diving for crustaceans and other reef-dwelling seafood, while searching for the strange places the old chief told you of alongside your curious young, and brash tomboy companion/pest? The mysterious Fairy grove, the old ruined castle, crystal caverns twinkling with mysterious bioluminescence, climb the overlook, or paddle through the sparkling waters of the galaxy lagoon.

Watch out when the sun sets however, the tales of strange shades emerging from the decayed ruins of an ancient city are sure to keep you on your toes!

I started making notes and it turned into this :p I decided to go with the brochure style of writing.
