I would travel the land(s) and slowly but surely amass wealth by pillaging bandit camps. I would do that until I can buy enough land to put a SMALL fort on. From that fort we would continue to raid bandits until we can upgrade the fort to a castle and can buy more of the surrounding land. After a while people would flock to us, as our land would be safe. charge them a 20% income tax and make them citizens. Continue to grow until we rule the world.
