Guys all precum at different times, and different amounts. Some start up right away, some only right before orgasm; some go like a faucet, while others produce only a drop or two; some guys precum whenever they are hard, and some only when soft and getting fucked up the butt. It also varies in the same guy, depending on the circumstances. I usually don't precum very much early in fapping unless it's been a few days.

Yes, this is normal. Precum comes from different glands, so the composition is different than what goes into semen. In my experience, it's usually sweeter.
