Epilators have worked well for me. The pain starts to pass by the second round and by the fifth or sixth there's barely any sensation at all.

It makes me smoother than shaving. Even if you take all the precautions, there's going to be some visible skin irritation for about a day after you first epilate but that'll become less significant as time passes and as you perfect your epilating. Exfoliate before, moisturize after.

That is the issue with shaving in general.

You can't shave those away without risking ingrown hairs.

That is why I mostly recommend waxing because you will get smoother results, the hair will take longer to grow back and when it does grow back it will be finer.

i know but this is a thread about an EPILATOR (AKA) a cheap alternative to waxing. i am not going to go have my body waxed professionally when i already bought this thing for like 100 dollars a long time ago and never got around to using it. the one time i did use it, the part stayed hair-free for a long time and the hair that did grow back was really thin until a longer period of time where it is now like the rest of my leg hair

Yep. It'll hurt more, but your results will be a lot more satisfying with one or two passes. I usually let the hair grow out to about a centimeter minimum before I epilate.

Warning: Don't use a regular epilator on pubes. There are specialized low-power epilators for face and groin but even those are less effective than shaving. I've tried epilating my crotch maybe five or six times and I've only got it right once. Remember to pull the skin you're epilating taught for best results.

"Yes". I've suffered a light anal fissure because I ran an epilator too far inwards for a second or two. My recommendation to avoid that would be to use your other hand as a guide, as if you were using a straight razor. I've also made the mistake of epilating my lower back without a mirror which left me with about two weeks of ingrown hairs. Mid-butt's probably fine but the rule of epilators is the same as razors, if you want to do your back either get a hand mirror or get somebody else to do it for you.

I really wanted to ask somebody to help me epilate, I always jump and shriek when I do my butt and the backs of my legs and the thought of somebody else holding me down, telling me it'll be alright, and slowly pushing the epilator up my sensitive skin seriously turns me on.

Also always epilate against the grain. Yes it feels like you're cutting into your skin with a red hot kitchen knife, that's how you know it's working.

If you've never done it, it is going to be horrible. I recommend going through and plucking every single hair one by one first.

I'm use to it but if I don't do it for a few months its unbearable when I start again.

I also think my epilator is broken, usually all it does is tug on the hairs until they break off and then they grow back fast just as if I had shaved them.

Sometimes I someone else was there to tie me down and do it for me and not stop nomatter what I say :(

Straight guy here, I recently started epilating my body hair and it is fantastic. Mechanically exfoliate before epilating, the pain is actually not that bad and somewhat enjoyable, except the knees, that part was a bit more painful than the rest.

People who shave are retards, the hair grows back thicker and stronger and faster. Epilator is better, don't be a sissy and enjoy the pain.

Also, epilators are the worst. Waterboarding is like a fun day at a pool in comparison. It's like a Saw movie. You could just stop, but you have to keep mutilating your legs to be smooth. It's horrible.

Spent 20 minutes trying to use an epilator. Got about 1/8th of a leg done. Switched to shaver head, that's useless too. Doesn't get all hairs and doesn't cut close enough to the skin.

They don't "remove" the hair permanently but they "reduce and make it weaker" permanently and also at later points it's better cause you only need to do it like once every 4 months or so and it doesn't hurt which is a great trade

It takes a while mostly because you can only do it once every 2 weeks and it needs a few times before hair starts dying

Pain wise it is 100% better than epilating.

For me at least it doesn't hurt at all anywhere apart from the bottom/inner tights which is to be expected and that feels like an elastic band being flicked against you, annoying, but nothing too bad

I tried this particular cream after I saw it on a leddit post :^) and as >>328710 said it does not work well on darker hair, despite being advertised as shaving cream for black men especially (not that I'm black but I guess they have coarser body hair on average). As a matter of fact it left me looking like a burn victim with uneven removal of the hair and lots of red bumps and general irritation. Suffice to say I never used it again and just stick to my epilator for the whole body. Only areas I don't currently epilate are the family jewels where I use tweezers and around the bumhole, which I'm considering getting lasered.

I have the darkest, coarsest hair, and because of that epilating is extremely painful. Took me 4 hours to do about 20% of the area that needs shaving. With that in mind, how ineffective is this cream powder stuff? The guide says hair should just wash off, so does that mean if it's ineffective on my hair it'll still make it easier to epilate?

Seriously I don't think I can keep epilating, it hurts so much. I have low pain tolerance already, and having really thick hairs doesn't help at all.

I just use shaving gel and a good razor for everywhere. Granted, it isn't perfect, particularly on the nuts and ass but it works pretty well for me. Although I don't have to do it for anyone, just fags on the internet when I'm lonely.

The thing is, the hair washes off but in a really uneven manner so you end up looking like you did a shitty job shaving. Like when I tried it on my chest and upper legs there were small tufts of hair remaining etc. The way this powder works is it chemically dissolves the hair above your skin, and if it doesn't go away above the root, it becomes very brittle. My guess is if you try to epilate afterwards the epilator will just snap off the ends of the hair instead of taking them out from the root.

On epilating, if it's your first time its bound to be painful and very time consuming. After about the third/fourth time you'll barely feel pain and its gonna be much faster though, it's a gradual thing. The worst areas pain-wise in my experience are around the navel and on the pecs close to the nips, if you're naturally hairless there you're in luck. All in all I'd say try to go through with it a few times and you'll probably be satisfied with the results.

How "right away" does the hair grow back after epilating? On average it should be 2 weeks.

Keep in mind, when you epilate after you've been shaving or whatever, not all the hair will have grown to epilatable (?) length yet, so some of them will survive the epilation and appear to regrow within days. Try epilating again after those hairs regrow and you'll probably be smooth for the next 2 weeks or so.

I don't know anything about electrolysis, but it sounds excessive. Then again I'm considering HRT mainly because of reduced body hair, so maybe I'm the excessive one.

If you just want to reduce hair, do laser or electrolysis. HRT will have only limited effect on bodyhair and no effect on facial hair and it never stops costing you money. You'd be way cheaper off in the end just having it removed. HRT isn't a toy.
