Then vote for Trump, he's the only progressive left in the race.
I'm serious, he's the liberal choice for president. Let's take a look. Donald J. Trump:
* Wants to get rid of international corporate trade deals like the TPP which kill jobs, something Bernie sincerely tried to get on the Democratic party platform and failed.
* Running with a platform of reinstating Glass-Steagall and breaking up the big banks, Bernie-style. Is the only viable anti-Wall Street candidate left. Does not give kickbacks to corporate types; often finds ways not to pay his bills to corporations through dealmaking and negotiation.
* Would actually end the wars in the Middle East by focusing military attention instead of just trickling in drones and proloning the amount of time needed to deploy our military might.
* Wouldn't start wars just to defend allies who are not willing to put up their fair share of the fight, ie, would not become involved in more foreign wars than necessary, something Hillary has an actual history of doing. Generally an isolationist; does not believe in being the world's police. Wants American military resources to be used defending America, preventing the rise of more terrorist groups like ISIS through misplaced military aid. Would force other countries to actually defend themselves instead of relying on America and then trying to shame America for being the world's leading military powerhouse.
* Supports Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc. Long believed in single payer healthcare, probably would come closer to this vision than Obama's mangled healthcare bill which just forced everyone to get on board with corporation-style insurance companies who don't care.
* Supports progressive income tax. Has gone on record as stating that he believes rich people get paid far too much, ought to be held accountable to paying their taxes.
* Is married to a legal immigrant; would not prevent legal immigrants from entering the country. Would shut anti-immigrant types up by actually attempting to build a wall. Succeed or fail, it's bound to advance the conversation of how to treat the immigrants we currently have. Success means the actual curbing of illegal immigration, easing the burden on public services, but even failure of the wall would appease border states and would galvanize are more long-term solution to immigrants who overstay their visas (the most common form of illegal immigration). It would also galvanize public opposition to wasteful public spending on poorly-implemented projects, so even if you're more lenient on immigrants it works out.
* Would address racial and religious tension within the United States rather than letting it simmer until it comes to a head. Love it or hate it, he doesn't dither and he doesn't deal in half-measures. Would take action to address domestic terrorism.
Most importantly to us:
* Personally likes gay and trans people: Says Caitlyn Jenner can use whichever bathroom she chooses at his hotels. Actually includes the 'queer' part of LGBTQ in an off-the-cuff remark in his own nomination acceptance speech. Compounds it by commending the audience for applauding for defending LGBTQ lives. Has a history of being in favor of gay marriage and leaving people alone about their orientation and gender identity.
* In favor of laws guaranteeing equal rights and protections for gay and trans people. Is not Ted Cruz.
* Probably couldn't get Obergefell v. Hodges overturned anyways since there's not a clear legal path to challenging it short of a constitutional amendment which nobody but pro-theocracy Cruz-loving cuckservatives whom everyone despises will support.
* Not a limp-dicked theocrat, can barely remember his lines when pandering to Christians, doesn't particularly care about enforcing morality laws.
Basically if you're liberal you should be voting for the Donald.

Yep, he's pretty left compared to many of the other conservative runners.
Thats what so laughable. All of these stormfags and gommies who think he's going to deport all brown people are in for a rude awakening once he wins. He's marketed himself to them slightly for the votes.
He's sort of like Nixon. I'm not saying Trumpbis a crook or anything, but Nixon was the president that opened the doorway to relations with China during the 70s. Most people during the time would have crucified anybody else for his decision, but his views and most importantly his persona was so conservative that they counteracted all accusations against him of being a leftist despite these opened relations with China being very leftist in nature. (Picking PRC over ROC)
Trump has the same thing. His persona is so anti-pc it allows him to do things like not actually giving a fuck about homosexuality or christanity, it allows him to brush all any sort of accusation that he is a leftist. Cruz tried to point out how liberal he was regarding certain issues (which was a good stratedgy), but it failed. Trumps persona beat that
Persona. People are obsessed with that. The pro wrestler approach works.
No.287377
>>287262
Well he said he was going to deport all illegal immigrants. If he managed to do that, then he would have done the impossible twice, first in getting congress to agree to a crackdown on that scale, which they would never go for, and second, actually implementing it.
I have a strong hunch that Trump is not that stupid. He may have a tremendous ego but he's clearly not a stupid man, he's quite cunning. He'll probably build the wall and then let border states sort it out themselves using federal money. As I said before, most illegal immigrants aren't fence-hoppers, they come here with legal visas and just overstay those visas and never actually bother to go back to their country of origin.
With that being said, even as a liberal, I don't think I'm willing to martyr more important issues over illegal immigrants. Personally I happen to think that election campaign reform is the only issue Americans ought to give a shit about because appropriately and democratically responding to all other issues hinges upon fair representation, and that isn't what we've been given. I've been impressed that Trump has been so masterful at fucking with the media (which is straight up garbage, we live in a second age of yellow journalism) and has been giving the Republican party pains. In a way he did something more liberal even than Bernie by marching straight into the Republican camp and declaring himself king of the hill while making every other mainstream candidate just about piss themselves, something no liberal politician has done in… ever, maybe.
I find the whole PC/anti-PC thing to be a red herring. SJW-style "progressives" are really actually primarily conservative and regressive in their attitude toward social hierarchies. They want strict regulation regarding social hierarchies, social policing of behavior toward people based upon ethnic, cultural, sexual lines, etc, and will fight tooth and nail for an inverted and compensation-based vision of an ideal social structure. The behavior of Trump's supporters very often gets confused with the behavior of Trump himself because it's easy for pundits to see that some klansman somewhere like David Duke has said they're in favor of Trump and then say "I knew he was a nazi!" but they then shrug off documented instances of Hillary Clinton being *far* more racist, for example when she told Black Lives Matter organizers that if black people would not make white people comfortable, she would only talk to white people. This is something she actually said recently and there's video of her clearly saying it to their faces with the full context:
http://thefederalist.com/2015/08/18/hillary-to-black-lives-matter-activists-maybe-ill-just-talk-to-white-people/
To me as a liberal, I see Trump as being relatively in line with truly progressive schools of thought, while Hillary seems much more in line with a sort of color-blind capitalism where the game is to be socially 'liberal' by firing off examples of minorities doing stuff that you agree with and paying lip service to the idea of holding banks accountable. That's well and good but it's not a replacement for substantive action, and we know what would happen were Hillary in a position to hold banks accountable because she was in a position of considerable power as secretary of state, which is like if you're the vice president except what you do actually matters. Well, the banks were still bailed out using taxpayer money, so we know exactly what she'd do in a recession. Considering that we're right on the cusp of another recession–within the year, likely, if we don't get a cash injection from somewhere–Hillary would *immediately* have America footing the bill a second time and that has more of a capitalist smack to it than what Trump has suggested.

"fag" was pretty much the same way, wasn't it? Just a matter of time before it's warped.
Though, you are right that it's got some resisting power. But using it as a GP insult will dilute the meaning a lot, so that by the time it's just an insult it'll be fine to accept it as a meaningless label.

If you haven't run into people using cuck ironically then you aren't trying hard enough to use cuck ironically. I don't do this sort of thing because I'm not a cuck and I don't care about irony but you could. Cuck is already overused by one specific group, namely people who are relatively young and involved in or in very close proximity to right or center-right politics. Even /leftypol/ users who use terms like 'classcuck' do so out of linguistic convenience to convey their message within groups that have in many ways lifted their language from very specific internet elements.
Anyone looking to lampoon these groups' overuse of cuck could if they wanted to but for it to not look like /cow/ material they'd have to be so patently un-cucked that it would be absurd. For example if Donald Trump called himself a cuck, he'd probably make one of those scrunched-up faces that he makes when he says stuff about Ted "Cuck Me Twice With Beans & Rice" Cruz and everyone would share a laugh while ol' Turd Cruz scrunches his face up, pisses himself and quietly begs to lick up the creampie (the answer as always is no). But short of that, yeah, I think if you call yourself a cuck it probably still makes you… you know, a cuck.

The worry is that the electoral votes aren't guaranteed. Each vote is a person who is SUPPOSED to vote for the person who won the popular election from each state. But now there is a movement to get those people to either not vote Trump or to vote for Hillary. If ~40 vote Hillary instead, she wins and there is nothing that can be done to stop it. The only way that who you like wouldn't define a large portion of your life is if you stay single and only occasionally have sex with random people. I'm already alone and I am choosy. I want to someday be thought of as someone who works hard to make things better for others through my work (who happens to like crossdressing on the side, no big deal), not thought of as who I want to fuck, which it seems most progressives define themselves as. Liking guys shouldn't be the focus of my life. Doing something meaningful should be instead. I don't even care if I get recognized for my work or not, but I refuse to become some special snowflake who only talks about what their dick likes.
>sex with random people
>hiring prostitutes
>non-degenerate
Do you understand what you're saying? Sure it's the oldest commodity exchange in existence, sex for money, but I'd rather not partake in such a thing. And I'd rather find people who mean something to me to have intimacy with. I don't mean never have sex outside marriage or relationships, but if I'm going to fuck someone I better feel something for them and they better feel something for me. If I end up alone, so be it. I'm already getting old and what's a few more decades. I have work that I enjoy doing, as that is what defines me.

Did I really have to quote "non-degenerate" for you to understand sarcasm? Okay, I'll explain sarcasm from now on.

"A gay who's not a faggot defined by his sexuality" is a fucking meme spread by republicunts to trick gays into living a degenerate lifestyle. They're the exact spreaders of the degeneracy they pretend to be against. "Yes, good faggot. Be very ashamed of you who are, you shouldn't define your life by your sexuality! It's not like 90% straight people live just to have family and kids, no they'd never define their life by their sexuality! Sexuality is just a minor detail! You should be single forever and never marry, because gay marriage is degenerate! You should sublimate through overworking until you can't take it anymore, then contribute to suicide and unhappiness statistic that we'll use against you. If you want to have sex you should do so discreetly with anonymous people so as to not draw attention to your sexuality; you should spread STDs and generally behave with reckless abandon because we robbed you of a basic reason to live that 90% of other people. And of course you can't escape the wild ride and adopt kids, look at how degenerate your lifestyle that we imposed on you is!" ← that's a sarcastic impression of a fundamentalist ideologue describing how to live an ideal gay conservative life, just in case you had trouble understanding, it isn't to be taken literally and you're advised to do the opposite.

I suggest you try not to be sarcastic while being seemingly serious. It's impossible to tell through text what is sarcasm and what isn't. Text lacks the inflections of spoken language. And I can't tell in your ensuing wall of text if you truly believe that or not and are slapping a "sarcasm" on it, since you wrote with some good detail. And if you don't, why are you even responding to me like this, and took the time to write that?

Sarcasm there is completely obvious, protip: when people say things that are opposite of reality in context that makes it obvious that they're completely aware they're wrong, they're usually sarcastic.
>Text lacks the inflections of spoken language.
No, you can still easily put emphasis where necessary in text. Pretty much no one would say "truly admirable" IRL non-sarcastically, it was a deliberate tell put there specifically to mark sarcasm, you fucking autismo.
>And I can't tell in your ensuing wall of text if you truly believe that or not and are slapping a "sarcasm" on it, since you wrote with some good detail.
Everything enclosed by quotes is meant to be sarcastic. I even marked the sarcasm area for you with and arrow, Jesus.
>And if you don't, why are you even responding to me like this, and took the time to write that?
I didn't expect you to be in fact mentally deficient. Even though, that would likely proclude me from changing your opinions, a post is still worth writing since it is public and will be read by others.

Also, everything outside of quotes is NOT sarcastic.

You reactionaries are so ridiculous. You don't even know what is in your best interest, only memes and feels, just like your equally retarded cousins the liberals.
