What made you drop capeshit comics entirely /co/?

pic related is mine

I honestly just couldn't find it in me to get into capeshit because it always required paying 15$ every two months if you wanted to follow a story, now I don't read anything that isn't a collection or graphic novel.

Shit taste

I never really was into it to start with. As a kid I had The Beano, and odd issues of other Brit comics. Later my brother and I got 2000AD, the Megazine and VERY occasionally the UK edition of Spider-man (three comics in one, but three months late).

I've probably bought more capeshit in the past few years than the rest of my life. Started on New 52 Batgirl, and stopped just as quick. Grabbed a few of the black and white silver age Marvel phonebooks at a con for a fiver each (and now wish I'd got a lot more, they were a steal), it took me over a year to get round to reading them… I ate up the first FF volume in an afternoon. Got the first Avengers volume shortly after. Most recent buys have been Power Pack Classic vol.1 and a 70's book of 40's Wonder Woman reprints.

I never really read it to begin with, my only contact with American comics was with Dark Horse and Heavy Metal. I did occasionally read The Phantom though, as it was published here and there in magazines.

I only read comics by writers I like, not based on the character they're writing. But I got out of most comics after the Secret Wars and Multiversity stuff closed the book on anything that wasn't totally diversified into irrelevance.
