If this was classic Harley Quinn, she would've won by dumb luck. Like the Penguin's plans are dashed simply because his conflict with Harley drove away tourists, thus making the take over of Coney Island unprofitable.
But no, we have to have physical fight because HARLEY A STRONKWOMANDONTNEEDNOMAN. Incredibly trite and uncreative.

>Actual poorfag protagonist
>Protagonist has personal problems that are not superficial
>Faustian deals
This is pretty good premise and a solid first issue. It's also refreshing to see a story that does not take place in New Your or some other metropolis.
>>984219
White Knight keeps getting less and less dumb with every issue. Although I'm not a big fan of Joker being basically a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde type of character.
>Joker figured out Batman's identity due to Wayne's business activities
He could just stalk Barbara for few hours, and he would have at least a first one name to work with.
>>985419
I hope that Sideways will keep up the quality down the road. It's probably the best out of all new characters, and has an interesting take on the "orphan main character" cliche.
>>985420
It is good. Only mark against it is that books is a little derivative, but so are most cape series with teen main characters. Still, it manages to get everything right, unlike many other recent attempts.
Sideways and Chinese Superman are the only recent 'diverse' characters which are actually good. Marvel's Reyes as Ghost Rider was good too, but of course they had to fuck it up. I hope that DC's new characters won't meet the same fate.
>>985637
Sideways feels like what Spider-Man is supposed to be. The more upbeat parts of it, anyway, but Parker didn't have to deal with serious personal issues in three decades or so. Main character in Curse of Brimstone sort of feels to me like a grim take Peter's old personal problems. Interestingly enough, both Sideways and Curse of Brimstone are written by the same guy.

It's impressive how this is very much like Ms Marvel, but also better in every conceivable way on top of not being a rip off or meaningless rebranding of an old existing hero. It doesn't even seem to matter so much that he's brown-ish, despite that being part of the marketing that journos harped on.

At least he does not have accelerated regeneration too. Lately, both of these tend to come in package, because it means that lazy writers can just write a book where people punch each other without a need to worry too much about injuries that might come with it.
No.986334
>>986324
I actually don't mind accelerated regeneration, because it lets stories lead into one another. One story arc can have immediate consequences leading into another, without worrying about long term damage. Plus, most stories ignore the damage anywayts,so why not. But "Super strength" is always an easy out for a hero. Rather than a clever application of his power, the hero will reach a new hither-to-unheard-of level of strength.
