S3 was a pretty big letdown, honestly. And it sucks even more knowing that S4 is probably not going to happen.

It's worse when you realize that a lot of the issues and the poor resolution of the plot, along with the many forgotten story elements were literally just flat-out incompetence. They admitted that they forgot that Harebourg was around or that they were supposed to do stuff with that Pandawa, and they never outright stated they were in a pocket dimension, so they accidentally made it look like they blew up the entire goddamned Krozmos, and they never actually wrote or figured out what they were doing next, so dropping them in the Realm of the Gods and what it entails for the place to be kind of ruined and empty was never decided. They didn't even think up a reason for why the Gods didn't intervene or get involved when they were literally about to be Elia-Nuked

I know Ankama is a small company, but I worry for them. Their MMOs are dying. Their attempts at a Hearthstone clone never really caught on (though it's pretty well designed) and Krosmaster is just painfully dead… I want them to be successful, but they are mismanaging their IP in every possible way.

The problem with wakfu is that it's too small of an IP to attract much attention. I would love if they actually put the effort they had in season 1 to the other two seasons, but it's easy to understand why you see the dip in quality. They really wanted to establish wakfu as an anime, so they tried their hardest to keep a formula going with the characters. Even if it's clear that they should have left the characters alone and told the story of another group in the world of twelve. It's already confirmed that Wakfu will be going on hiatus in favor of the new series Abraca. Right now they haven't released much information on it aside from it being a fairy tale based story. I'm still not sold on them ever ending Yugo's story without more filler. For fucks sake the original ending for Amalia and Yugo, was that she was going to turn into a tree and be awakened when Yugo was older. So it would end with him telling her of his travels as he slumbered bringing in the end of his generation.

Since their going all in with abraca and it's being partly funded by the french government, the odds of ankama going back to wakfu, or dofus is zero.

Hopefully the movie their making "Princess dragon" Fills that hole.

Not much was ever released about what happened, but going off of the information that spread around from studio ghibli during the Ogrest movie.

To sum it up, they were breathing down the necks of the staff,with how strict they were with the animation direction. But considering that's really the lite version of it, the only thing we can probably say is that the french directors were gigantic assholes to the collaborating studios and it sunk the project.

Let it go anon, why do you think they're making Abraca? It's basically a replacement for the Dofus universe. At least wakfu has a snowballs chance in hell of coming back if the french government and netflix can front more money, but that's it.

Unless Dofus magically gets the boost in audience it needs for them to change their mind, we're not going to the conclusion to Joris's arc.

It's funnier when you realize yugo in earlier seasons made portals and had to be creative with them, then instead they stopped it outright and now have him using portals to shoot blasts and make shields and weapons out of.

What the hell were they thinking? I mean, avatar the last air bender had aang power scale just right, he never seemed outright overpowered, since even zuko's sister was able to shoot him and almost kill him during the avatar state. It felt like aang and all the characters grew everyone season, and as a result they all became stronger characters. Instead Yugo and the crew lose a few brain cells every other season for plot convenience and end up with more and more ridiculous power scaling. At least avatar ended on book 3 and didn't out stay it's welcome. But Wakfu is destined to die by the hands of one lone french autist for a lead writer, that's sinking it into the ground like an army of a hundred Bryan and Michael's could ever dream with their shitpile, legend of korra. I just want them to stop ruining wakfu.

When you look at season one episodes of the gobbowl and the fight with Nox. You get some of the best scenes and writing in the show, that actually show a lot of character, the fighting was just an added bonus of how little a motion would have impact.

Even this fight and all the others were comparatively small, and left you wanting more. But that was because the story was so strong that it made you actually care who won.

I loved Grovy, a heroes death is what I thought he deserved. But they bring him back and make his sacrifice meaningless, and continued to nullify the fights since everyone in the group was practically immortal due to plot armor.

You're fucking with me with right? Season one barely had any action scenes, all the other seasons after it have action scenes that cost more, look awful, and are terrible. Contrasting how good season ones action scenes were and how little there was, I think you're off your rocker.

If you know anything about ankama, they've always been humongous fucking weebs. Majority of their staff is obsessed with studio ghibli, and they're into a lot of the flavor of the month shit. Hell, with dragon ball super just popping up, and their new big comic they're publishing to replace wakfu, "runaway" They've been trend writing on shounen shit, and it shows why the quality dropped so dramatically.

Avatar the last airbender had aang having to deal with the fact all of his masters were dead, and even the episode where they go to the air temple and find the corpses of airbenders. It all cements the fact that aang had to make peace with himself and stop ozai. Katara had to ease aang out of the avatar state, telling him he didn't have to be alone. It all goes full circle when Aang refuses to kill Ozai.

Except that's bullshit, if you've read any of the logs from the wakfu website, he wrote the majority episodes for season 3 himself and talked about how (((people))) are complaining he's not writing more women, only to cement the fact that he's gotten worse as a writer.

I do know that the woman who handles the majority of the direction is a part of this, but even ATLA had jews directing it, and it did just fucking fine. There's a difference between good writers and a literal spastic that has too much control for his own good.

Yugo going super saiyan and being the chosen one, with heaps of other anime tropes just thrown in so they can make their own imitation of a long running anime series just tells you how Wakfu doesn't have an identity to them anymore, they're just using it to prop up their anime nerd cred instead of trying to make something original. Did you forget the logs, where tot was screeching about how the more they wrote the show the closer they got to an ending. So he instead did everything in his power so it wouldn't end the way it was naturally supposed to. Obsessive weebs not even once.
