Not only did they reach the goal but they passed it immensely and Adult Swim was like "lol we still do not care". I really hate limited animation AS cartoons, this and Archer are just blech. Shows like 12 oz mouse or home movies work because they look bad and you'd expect them to have bad animation, but this pseudo-comic thing where all the characters look detailed but only move their mouths with some token stiff arm movement just look fucking awful. They all have that same kind of brute force guy-talk humor, reminding me of shitty "mature" newgrounds animation.
Also the actual metal humor is really shallow, just typical 80s NWOBHM aesthetics and popular band name puns. The music is fucking awful, and there's no excuse being a parody. Spinal Tap was a fake band done right, this show is just lazy.

I just finished binge watching the show except for the very final episode. It was tolerable and I found few jokes genuinely funny but dialogues and philosophical diarrhea of Xavier was much more memorable tbqh.
Would be nice if this show had a proper closure and everything but after learning AS cucked the fans twice in a row without a single convincing reason makes me relieved that at least it aint gonna get SJ treatment.
