It's collapsing on itself as we speak. Soon the networks won't have enough ratings to sustain themselves. Television is an empire trying to grasp onto whatever life left it can hold onto. And like all empires, this one will eventually end.
And don't think subscription services are the answer; Netflix can't even create competent animated works, let alone above average cartoons. Their business model will destroy themselves too, and after that, we'll get a true animation renaissance.
