To be honest, I don't see where Johnny Test fit because the 1st season (intro/show) was great and gotten worse onwards. Especially when they replace it with that ripoff American Idiot theme.

The problem with that show is that it had a few great ideas and complete Shit for execution. It has no idea what audience it wants to write to, It's got all the subtle humor of a sledgehammer, and it completely gave up on consistency in the last third. The dance sequence was particularly horrendous.

Nevertheless, it's something that manages to break away from standard formulas, so I'd argue that it's important not because it exists, or that it's any good, but that it's even able to exist in the first place, and that something will take full advantage of this creative freedom. We might eventually see adaptations of things that you'd never imagine would get them, like a completely faithful full-length animation of the original Mask comics.

I remember before the exodus, there was a guy saying he was working for the company doing the DVD release talking about trying to get the full version of the song as a bonus feature. Pretty sure he found out they lost the full song somehow.

Spiral Zone. Good song and has an interesting original setting with plenty of action and risk, such as characters actually going down when hit by laser fire for instance.

Though the biggest annoyance of the 65 episode long series, it has 6 clip show episodes (original animation framing device, followed by flashback clips) and then the final 3 episodes are just made up of entirely recycled footage with new audio (including footage they already recycled from episode 64 into 65) causing the show to have no conclusion or ending which just left me with a massive bitter taste to the series overall, I just can't really recommend watching it.

that show was surprisingly dark for 80s cartoons. if I remember correctly it was about a mad scientist who uses his invention, the Zone Generator, to spread this spiral shaped cloud over the earth that transforms anyone in the areas affected by the clouds into zombies or hyper intelligent mutants if your genetic code was just right.

though I don't think anything from the 80s ever got nearly as dark or horrific as Inhumanoids. it was like a mix of Ghostbusters, Lovecraft and Journey to the Center of the Earth with a strong emphases on horror. It was pretty graphic for a kids show back then. hell there's a scene in the initial 5 part mini-series where one of the heroes gets turned into this giant lumbering un-dead monstrosity by the un-dead nightmare that is Decompose.
