DC keeps making terrible decisions and has even worse writing teams. Sometimes I think the only way too really salvage comic book characters is to say good bye to long running series completely and just let writers create versions they want. Least then continuity issues and having to read 50 other comics to understand what you're reading would no longer be a problem. That wouldn't solve everything but it's something.

Even this past year, we went from a good Plactic Man in the start of The Terrifics to whatever Simone has been doing with the character.
