Dumped by his girlfriend, fired from his job, and newly homeless, hapless everyman Donald Duck's fortunes appear to flip when he inherits the dilapidated, but antique-engorged estate of his great-grandfather, Clinton Coot. Along with his fellow heirs, Donald wastes no time in trying to profit from the horde of priceless artefacts, only to be dragged kicking and screaming into an immense and deadly cosmic war.

nostalgia bandwagon's high and Mexico/South America may be becoming a viable market for them again (the original was made to appeal to South America as it was hard to get Disney's films into Europe at the time; the Nazi regime viewed them as propaganda)

A well-animated cartoon centered around an inhouse Disney character featuring obscure characters that usually never make it outside the comics and what looks to become an overarching plot with Grey Griffin as a supporting character. Is this real life?
Shame about the censored cigar and guns, but I can overlook it if the rest of the series remains on this episode's level.
No.1005463
So what's the link to the second one if the one OP posted is just the first one again? The whole cosmic war thing is entirely unnecessary. I don't see why they even included it. All this needed was the three guys going on adventures.

I kind of feel the same way. I mean at this point just not having pure cal-arts with randumb humor feels like ointment going onto 2nd Degree Burn, but getting to see Panchito and Jose again is a nice bonus.
I feel like I've been able to swim to a deserted island after an industry sank. Sure, things aren't ideal, but I'll be able to make do for a while and I'm sure as hell not blaming the island.

I saw this movie when I was 8-9 in VHS, dubbed in french. They actually sing that song in spanish which was a huge deal to me given I've been taught both french and spanish since my birth. English was easy to pick up thanks to vidya.
Embed related is the song. Sadly, there are no subtitles. I'm biased towards this version.

I watched it and thought it was okay-ish. I'm pretty sure I'm giving it a lot of leeway since it's probably the only time we're going to be seeing Jose and Panchito for a while. I thought the stronk woman and cosmic plot with feldred was a little much. How they totally leave out huey, doey, and louie is also weird when there is april, may, and june around (more women inclusion).
The show is going to overstay it's welcome with a second season and I don't think the quality is going to get better, I can only envision stupid plot points to be pulled out it's ass since it's a continuing story with a barebones stupid-ass plot in the first place. It's what anon said beforehand at the beginning of the thread that this show would have been more interesting if it was just Donald, Panchito, and Jose fucking around. But I doubt they would make it interesting enough to make separate interesting episodes and stuck with this formula to lead people on each episode.
No.1008607
Well, that was a ride, for sure.
Good ending. A big reunion of everyone who appeared throughout the season, and a resolution that leaves the door wide open for a second season, but could also perfectly stop at this point.
>>1008429
The producers probably had a mandate from Disney HQ forbidding them from using the nephews. Don't want to cross the streams with them being built up as the nuDuckTales protagonists. Scrooge likewise was reduced to only a single cameo. But it's an easy way to deflect criticism from feminists and it put a spotlight on more obscure characters for a change.
A second season will probably be "more of the same", but I don't see what's wrong with that. Just a couple of birds and their tour guide globetrotting it up and picking up some mythology along the way. Long as they don't try to fiddle with the formula, there's no reason it shouldn't work a second time. And the house on chicken legs at the end implies Baba Yaga might join the villain line up, which could also make for interesting stories.
No.1011459
