I'm glad his neighbors found it before his death and complimented him on it. That was one of the few things he could remember there at the end, so to have somebody say something nice about it probably sent him off happy. Sounds like towards the end of his hard life things got alright for him. His neighbors became the family he never had, he was able to go where his dad went, and he had visitors even if his mind was going bad. That's a better end than most artists get, especially autistic ones.
