I like middle aged Peter and Miles' dad(who seems completely unrelated in character to his comic counterpart), but everything else either looks bad or so monotone it's boring. How are the normies receiving this one so far?
Also, I still love that they are naming this movie after one of the worst crossover events in Marvel history.

Rather because is easy, blends fast with the urban style and has energy even if it's meh, kinda like the overuse of Synthwave in indie games. I like Synthwave but it can get pretty bland too. or the "BOOOOOONG" in "epic" movies.
>Other than that Mile's was kind of funny, why he can be Spiderman instead?
True, the worst part has to be that while I agree on giving space to Miles to try make him a good or at the very least a memorable character I don't understand why do they have to shit on Peter in the process. The last time I checked he was a college teacher IIRC, my teachers have a lot of free time, they could very well be Spider-Man. And to rub lemon on the injury now there's Spider-Gwen so Miles will have even less screen time against an even more pathetic yet more memeable character. Shit, Gwenpool would've made more sense, Miles stint in Gwenpool is entertaining at the very least and he has character and motive of all things.

>weird, stuttery, almost-stop-motion animation style
It might just be me being an animation autist or the type of guy who views Wes Anderson movies as absolutely normal but holy fuck that trailer, once I could get past the chromatic aberration vomit, just hit so many buttons that I've been looking for in 3DCGI animation for years. My brain actively hurts when I try to look at something like Pixar animation, and anything similar in Japan always has something off and betrays its 3D origins, from Sanzigen to Polygon Pictures to CyberConnect2 to Graphnica, unless it's ArcSys. Even Orange doesn't meet my standards for emulating 2D. There's just a quality about the stuttering, carefully selected poses, and limited frames that simultaneously renders it more naturalistic than real life and yet more arresting and hypnotic in the deliberate craft displayed. And with the 3D software allowing the studio to have soft lighting and shading along with an adjustable color palette it's just inches away from achieving every artist's dream of finally and fully realizing the detail of painterly concept art into the final product. If Genndy Tartakovsky didn't have any sort of influence on the art and animation direction of this production color me absolutely shocked.
It actually disappoints me that the animators go full motion with the webslinging scenes as they break the illusion cast upon me with such ugly motion.
Also an up yours to everybody who told me emulating stopmotion in 3DCG for my portfolio wasn't "in" in the industry

No.1000455
>>1000441
I think the problem with the animations is that it's not consistent, at you pointed out. It's also not quite right, as traditional animation doesn't look like that (the framerate is all wrong), and stop-motion uses a lot more tween frames, usually leading to smoother motion. It makes it hard to tell what they were going for, because there's a lot of cliche and overblown comic book aesthetics being thrown around, so maybe they are going for a panel-by-panel look, but comics aren't flipbooks, so… I don't fucking know. It's weird, to say the least. Potentially interesting, but still unusual.

The animation to me can either go two ways: Absolutely shit and random, or actually a decent style that changes a bit when it is needed in a watchable way.

I think the problem is that the dad has more of a personality than his faggot fucking son. If they had his dad as spider-man then this shitpile might actually be worthwhile, so far this is just generic "I want to be a superhero like my idol!" garbage that the Nu live action spiderman failed to do. Considering how fucking choppy the animation looks and how marvel doesn't understand that they should just fucking try to make something enjoyable instead of this gay garbage. It's fucking "Spider-man" Not some random kid with the personality of sand paper. This is basically a fucking rehash of homecoming but with niggers and rap music. I'd actually like that, since they could riff off the frozone scenes from the first incredibles and build a whole character off of that. You have spiderman as a bum, and this ex cop reaching out to him. If anything it'd probably just be a rip from the incredibles at the end of the day with the dynamic, but you have so much more potential and actual heart to a movie, than this piece of shit with a boring ass teenager, who the critics are going to fucking just love since the only reedeming factor he has in their eyes is that he's a teenage nigger.
No.1001958

>so far this is just generic "I want to be a superhero like my idol!" garbage that the Nu live action spiderman failed to do
For some reason Marvel keep pushing this idea. The idea that Spider-Man needs to be trained or mentored. They did it in Ultimate Comics before they killed off Peter Parker. They did it in the shitty Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. They did it in the new shitty Spider-Man movie and now they're doing it here.
I don't think Marvel get that Spider-Man's not some teenage sidekick. That's the whole point of Spider-Man. He doesn't have mentors. He doesn't have an ever present father figure to guide him. He doesn't have anyone to show him the way except himself, and he routinely fucks it up as a result. That's what makes him interesting. If you give him a mentor who has to 'train' him to be a superhero, either you eliminate the fucking up, which makes him boring, or you keep the fucking up and the mentor as a result looks incompetent and therefore pointless. I know black Spider-Man is supposed to be a different character (although not really) but the principles should still be the same.
It's because of shit like this that Marvel haven't put out a Spider-Man worth watching or reading in over ten years.

Seriously though, JJJ is as much of a stern father figure as he is an antagonist. Guy had a hand in Scorpion's creation for crying out loud.
>>1007455
Well, there is pretty frequent correlation between creator being very vocal when it comes to politics and subpar quality work. That goes for both sides, since crap like Patriotika and Alt Hero is not much better than America or Squirrel Girl. Of course, there are exception like Miller, Busiek, and Spencer who while outspoken, are or were able to write a decent book on occasion.
