Where do you suggest finding decent enough quality GBA games since I don't want ROMs?

I would honestly just pick them up at swap meets and sales locally if you can.
Otherwise ebay is where I get a lot of mine. Just learn to tell repros apart from actual copies.

I know a few games require carts that use clocks and other shit but there's no real reason to oppose ROMs, I just kind of miss that quaint feel of it.

Nah I get that.
I personally prefer physical copies for my N64 games. It's more satisfying to have them. I don't know if you can replace the clock batteries for GBA games though.

some of the best players ive ever seen are all really good widows too so i guess that just means if you can aim and shoot really good you are just good after you learn all the maps, and i guess that makes sense :V

If it works like a N64 battery you can gerry rig a dummy battery to keep a connection while you move them over. As long as there is a charge running through it then you can keep the saves.

this is why im glad memory cards in systems did not rely on battery to keep saves, i can still access my ps2 saves any time i want and relive a little piece of childhood (that i hadn't deleted or lsot yet)
