Grilled cheese sandwiches can be fancy, too;
It all depends on the bread and the cheese. Also the choice between margarine/butter and how you apply it.
Right now I have access to mild cheddar and light rye which is a nice combination, but I do prefer marble as a stock go-to, sometimes I get fancier and make havarti on sourdough, or even mozza on white bread. There are so many ways to make a grilled cheese sandwich.

I loved Watterson's style, how it always looked so 'loose' but was still meticulous and intentional, he was so damn good at making quick, sloppy looking backgrounds come alive and look realistic- his style really turned me on to comic art because it wasn't cookie-cutter like the other syndicated strips.. it was alive, it could be spontaneous and vibrant instead of cold and calculated..

Yeah, and I really respect that he turned down all merchandise ideas aside from collected anthologies, so any C&H stickers or shirts are all bootlegs. He wasn't in it for the money, but he made a good living on it.. can you believe he was 42 when he got 'famous' writing C&H and used to work at Hallmark?
He's inspired me greatly, and as I get older and mature out of the old crap I used to write/draw, I realize that it doesn't matter how old I am- if I one day set down and make it my goal to bring laughter to the world, I may just set out and do it, and become the next Watterson, taking what he taught me and teaching it back to the next generation.

I like to imagine he met a woman, married her, and settled down with children while taking on a simple menial job and just enjoyed the rest of his life.
Isn't it our goal to try to succeed? Get rich?
I'm at the point where I've stopped writing, because I literally have nothing to say. I think Watterson found the vehicle he wanted; he made a comic strip about a child because he wanted children. Young heterosexual male artists tend to draw a lot of women because they desire women, and I've grown out of that phase and am wondering what it is I want out of life.
If I figure that out, then I might find the topic and passion that will drive my own art.
