I've been reading this recently after finishing a bunch of isekai. It's amazing how close it is to a LN in it's format and subject. So far it has just been about a chunni NEET trying to live out his fantasies from his books, going on quirky adventures, and telling people about his OC waifu.

I'm at a loss as to how people hold this series in such high regard. The only things it has going for it are that the MC isn't an overpowered Mary Sue and that the fight scenes are well done. I wouldn't have minded a show about people who wouldn't even cut it as town guard #5 if the characters hadn't been so bland and one dimensional. In a character driven show, a cast this weak is a kiss of death. Playing and immediately discarding the isekai plot point just to set up a fish out of water story was also flat out retarded. It's piss easy to have characters be fish out of water without having them come from another world. An example of this done right is Akame ga Kill's MC. He was just as ignorant of the world at the start of the series as Grimgar's cast, and the author didn't have to dangle and drop something that seemed so important as coming from another world to do it.

That's already plenty if you ask me.
Sure, it's not high literature, but it's good enough to be a fun read.
The isekai plot also gets picked up again later

Its just another way to start from isekai, but still have a simple enough hook to get people to buy it in the sea of other stuff.

I'm pretty sure it's for the people who want to hurt people, but have it in some justifiable manner so it isn't "bad". Since revenge is an easy hook, it's gets both the sadist and the bullies in one easy to market package.

What kind of shitty translation is that? Everyone knows the author's intended romanization is Tanjiahdo.

Goblin Slayer. /tg/ loves it, and for good reason; it's the Doom of light novels. Looking forward to the anime later this year. It's just fucking good like holy shit I can't stop reading. I've been watching a lot of lighthearted stuff lately, and I usually read comfy slice-of-life mangas these days, so Goblin Slayer is very much the spice I need. It also fuels my murder boner.

Yeah, well, I still like it. I mean, they have the goddamn D&d5e character sheet in the manga and the gods play dice and make adventurers, you'd be hard beat to get more /tg/ than that.
No.24029

It's certainly more /tg/ than most of the things in that thread, but I have serious doubts about the author's actual experience with tabletop games.
