So Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 8: Jojolion has now been running for longer than the incredible Steel Ball Run aka Jojo Part 7.

I've kept up with it but it feels like its both only just getting started and Araki is completely bored with it and wants to end it already.

Is anyone actually enjoying part 8? i mean it had some good parts like Shakedown road but overall it starts with some intrique and mystery about the walls eyes and bites giving stands which both now seem forgotten and other than that just feels like part 4 but worse in every regard.

It constantly introduces ideas or characters and forgets them. It goes nowhere with its plot or character progression and relies far too much on "oh those quircky, wacky characters behaving autistically" which worked in others because it was in bite sized chunks. If Kakyoine was going RERERO constantly he would be annoying as fuck. But thats almost every character in part 8. The patriarch of the family is really the only character thats changed remotely along with the love interest. Everyone else is the same they were in their first appearance and its been seven. fucking. years.

In the time its taken for Josuke II to learn what he is, that the rokakaka can save holly and that the son of the family is working with rock humans steel ball run had its entire story. The president going from a fat egoraptor clone to the strangely moralistic antagonist who basically became the big boss of jojo. Jhonny went from a bitter and desperate disgrace to a proud jostar man who stood his ground in the true mans world.

It could be that i'm the minority but as little as anyone talks about jojolion at all i don't really hear the negatives when the longer it goes on the worse it seems to be getting.

What do you think of it?

Man you are missing out. Steel Ball Run is the best Araki has ever been. Its legitimately one of the best manga of the 21st century. I cannot recommend it enough.

There are good parts, but I took a long break from reading because it felt like it was not going anywhere, and a part of me feels like this is an elaborate joke with a punchline that's no where in sight yet.

Pretty much this alongside with the art. Part 8's artstyle is somewhat bland in comparison to SBR, and the other parts.

It's kind of getting into gear with Gappy and the appraiser finding the Rokaka branch and Jobin and the rock midget trying to kill them only for Jobin to get attacked by the midget's stand, but I don't blame you for taking a break. It's taken way too damn long for the plot to progress.

I went in expecting Kars fell to earth and caused the earthquake or a vampire jhonny lives in the wall eyes and gives peoples stands as some curse for taking the corpse from its resting place or something.

So far we have boss baby, a he man knock off and a fat guy. Its like the jobber villains in early yugioh.

I am not diligent enough to follow monthly releases so once I caught up I kinda dropped it for a while. I love jo2uke, but like other anons have said it's really meandering right now. I mean it started with wall eyes, then not pillar men, then equivalent exchange and boneitis, now this fruit.

I think he thought he was done with jojo then got the spark back and made SBR and it was arguably his best work but then hes like "how the fuck do i follow that up?" and the rest is what we got. We all know he has a boner for part 4 and his OC boyfriend Rohan. So he went with his comfort place.

Its not terrible its just the weakest in an amazing series.

Joseph and DIO are by far the most entertaining characters in the series.

Their absence after Stardust Crusaders makes the series quite difficult to enjoy.

Diamond is Unbreakable's saving grace was Kira Yoshikage.

I'd say Jojolion is as boring as Vento Aureo and Stone Ocean.

It's probably because it's not finished. For me at least, no matter what the medium is, reading/watching weekly or monthly installments of something really sucks. Sure, it's hype to discuss things a couple days after installments come out, but if I really want to know how good something is I need to consume it as a whole.

I mean, there could very well be flaws with the current part, but if the pacing seems slow than it might just be the release schedule.
