No.1761
Let's get a seasonal anime thread going.
So far I am really impressed with Winter 2018. I really like:
>Yuru Camp
Comfy as fuck. Cute girls doing camping in the winter, eating good, hot food. SOLD.
>Beatless
Set in the future where the male MC has a hot robo waifu who can also fight. It's Blade Runner-ish. The plot is still developing, but looks promising. Looks like there is a scheme by antagonists to create a robot rebellion.
>Darling in the FranXX
I like this. Lots of tits and ass, cute waifus, and animation similar to Kill la Kill. Even the mecha they pilot have tits and ass shots. The plot is a little bit tropey, with humanity trying to defeat some kind of alien species threatening to kill of humanity.
>Toji no Miko
The characters are tropey. But the animation is good, though plot is still developing. Looks like "cute high school sword girls take on demons". This I think is 24 episodes. It's kept my interest so far.
No.1762
>Sora yori mo Tooi Basho
Like Yuru Camp, this is also cute and comfy. It's about four girls trying to get to Antarctica. The story is interesting and it's both funny and cute seeing the girls trying to come up with ways to get to their destination.
>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
High school girl obsesses over middle aged corny divorced guy who is her manager at her part time job. The artwork is superb, and it reminds me of late 70s/early 80s anime artwork, like from Captain Harlock. I like it.
>Killing Bites
Similar to Juuni Taisen. It's about lycanthropes engaging in illegal underground fight clubs. The story is nothing special, but the male MC isn't typical. He's the kind of character who is usually a background, tertiary character but this time, he's the MC and focuses on his relationship with one of the lycanthrope girls. Overall, it's not bad. I'm going to continue watching it.
No.1763
>Märchen Mädchen
Uh. Not sure how to classify this, but the show is cute. It's pretty much cute awkward high school loli discovers a gate to a magical academy and learns magic through fairy tale books. Visuals are standard, but it's cute.
>Grancrest Senki
Nothing special in terms of visuals or plotline, and has lots of tropes. But I'm a fan of medieval anime and this has a strong element of Game of Thrones in it. Might even be Game of Thrones the anime. I like it.
>Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku
The name says it all. Isekai anime. Nothing special. If you are a fan of Isekai, this is down your alley.
>Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan
Fate/stay night the cooking show slice of life. It's a side story of Fate/stay night with all the characters and Shiro cooking various foods.
No.1765
>Citrus
Yuri lesbian sexual assault. SOLD! The plot is meh. Plus it is secondary to the drama between the two MCs plus the lesbo action.
>Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san
What can I say? A show all about ramen and ramen appreciation. It's a food anime with some decent waifus but nothing special.
No.1766

Hmm. Didn't see it. Maybe it was one of those threads that got blown out after the hack
No.1769

>Yuru Camp
Max comfy.
>Koi wa Ameagari no You ni
I like the concept and that the girl, ironically, has more balls than the vast majority of love story protags.
Confession in the second episode is breddy good.
>Killing Bites
My favorite so far. The badger girl manages to really tickle my monster girl fancy.
I'm usually not into dominant girls either, but she's too cute.
>Grancrest Senki
I love Fantasy and the female MC is top-Keikaku material.
#2 for me so far.
>Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku
LN is better, much better. Pacing seems off. They shouldn't have spent a whole episode getting into the other world. I fear the season is going to cut off really early, before it'll get to the interesting stuff of MC and his harem travelling around.
>Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens
Hitmen killing people. And other Hitmen. Everyone's a secret hitman. Also, corrupt government.
Main plot has started at the end of the third episode now. Pretty fun so far.
>Miira no Kaikata
Boy gets chibi mummy and they become friends. Cute, can recommend.
>Overlord II
Worse than the first season, which was worse than the LN.
I'll probably look in again in a few weeks once the plot gets going.
>Violet Evergarden
Brainwashed combat doll tries to integrate in civilian life after war ends.
Pretty cute and some interesting character development.

I like the art and the story. But I'm not sure why a young high school girl would go for an awkward middle aged divorced guy. I can only imagine she has issues at home that will come out in the series. This seems to be a fetish
No.1780
Haven't watched that much but so far I'm disappointed.
>Yuru camp
The best so far but it has a forced feel to it. Sort of "You need to go camping!" brainwashing.
>Hakumei to Mikochi
I hoped for som Binchou-tan levels of comfy but again somethings seems off. Perhaps it's the drawing style or the voices idk.
>7 deadly sins
Combat level, magick power, strength… turned it off after 10 minutes. Not gonna watch.
>Takunomi
Like Yuru camp but even more this feels like an infomerical or animercial with generic characters.
No.1784
>>1780
>Takunomi
With how they mention specific brands in every episode, I'm 95% sure they're sponsored by at least one liquor company. There's literally no reason to mention a certain brand of beer 5 times in as many seconds otherwise, you could just say beer.
I'm a sucker for the "country gal wants to become city lady" trope though, so I can forgive the brainwashing. Mostly because I'll never see any of those brands anyway, so I can't get lured into buying them.
No.1785

I’m tempted to watch this but it seems like an old hen’s club anime. Something about females getting drunk bothers me.

How dare you speak ill of Yuru Camp! It’s absolutely cute. It’s just one of those animes that are educational. Shit I didn’t know there were disposable heating pads let alone where to put them.
No.1789
Holy shit, can't even watch my escapism without being reminded of these shitskins.
Oh well, it's barely drawn and animated, a far cry from something like Ichigo Mashimaro. I won't miss it.
>>1787
There were two in a row: long riders then Minami highschool something for bicycles. And before that, Bakuon for motorcycles.
All of them were promoting real brands.
No.1797
>>1777
We had multiple chicks like that in my highschool and there's hordes of them at my university.
I can't say about home issues, knowing these girls I wouldn't call it surprising if they did have some, but there's a lot of young girls that are into any older man that's not butt-ugly.
>>1785
Can it count as an old hen's club if it's 20-something girls at most though?
Not that I don't agree with you. I prefer my 2D to not act like 3DPD. It defeats the point.

This seems to be a meme in Japan, the whole alcoholic single lady thing. I’ve seen it come up in anime before, but usually it’s some high school teacher nearing her thirties and being a depressed single woman.
What was that anime last season that was 3-minute episodes of a dude’s wife getting drunk and him just passively feeding her addiction?

My top 3 this season would be (in no particular order):
-sora yori mo tooi basho
-saiki kusuo
-yuru camp
and adding for top 5:
-killing bites
-card captor Sakura
Still watching 19 series overall this season, but don't care much about the rest.
No.7377
Yuru Camp is probably my favorite. Maximum comfy, best girls, great art and music.
Still watching Darling in the Franxx because it's trigger and some dumb shit is gonna happen that sources a million memes, and I want to be there. Hoping it gets better though cause it's pretty boring right now and they're witholding information about how the world works, which pisses me off like nothing else. It takes away context and makes actions matter less.
I'm also watching Ito Junji, Beatless, Killing Bites, Mitsuboshi Colors, and Poptepic. But my enjoyment of them seems superficial and I wouldn't care if I missed an episode. Just watching because I'm bored.

>isekai bingo "checked every box twice" tier
That's got to be the best way of explaining that show I've ever seen. People like to throw around the term generic, but this is one case where it applies. The show does nothing to put its own twist on the isekai formula. It feels like it was made by a focus group to be as bland and inoffensive as possible.

dorei-ku is legit fresh. might be retarded, might have a lot of plot holes, but you can't tell which direction its going and it has a compelling story.
mahou shojou site is typical edgeshit but they're starting to flesh out the story rather than just edge for the sake of edge.
sao:a is just good action (so far), maybe they'll ruin it later but until then its definitely enjoyable.

My problem with Dorei-ku is that it jumps around a thousand characters's sub-plots. Well, it might be because were pretty early in the season, and hopefully those characters will be better used later on, in which case I'll swallow my pride and admit they did a good job at establishing all those characters. But we'll see.
