Two main factors come into play. The first is that 99% of people willing to go public with this fetish do not have anything else going for them in their lives. They're wacko autists, and a good amount of them even live on government cheese. The fetish has consumed their lives and they don't take care of themselves properly in any aspect, be it work, hygiene, or health.

Second, the media actively seeks out these people because they are the most extreme, and therefore the most entertaining. Think about shows like "My 600 Pound Life", "Hoarders", "My Strange Addiction", "Dr. Phil", the list goes on. They all have two things in common: the people have extreme issues, and they're all massively successful.

So really the fact that they're fatasses is just a result of being a nonfunctioning man child.

I couldn't agree more with this actually. It's very obvious when someone allows a fetish to absorb their entire lives.
