I think I bought this from Kalida… although it's a bit of a troll image.

Basically there was this one loud mouth snit furry who was being all hypocritical and screaming on about babyfurs with all sorts of outlandish accusations and what not… so I "stole" her "original character" and had it redrawn as a retarded babyfur and then went around claiming it as my own… which infuriated her to the point of making a ~very~ colorful assortment of death threats! :D

Well I think the point is that some artists who do commissions do NOT share the art work on their own accounts… meaning there's potentially a LOT of art that most of the community has never even seen before unless they've been digging through "trash accounts" as I like to call them.

This entire community is one of the main reasons I had to invent my dynamic directory threading software (works vaguely similar to hashtags, but they're preset).

Basically I can look at one version of a directory that has artist names and contains all their work, or I can dynamically alter the directory view to give me folders of character names which then contain the art from all the commissioned or donated art.

I use a similar setup with my Data Archive although that version is a bit more complex.

I don't know why Microsoft and all the other big software outfits haven't come up with their own version… it really is quite handy.

Doesn't work with everyone though. Basically you need to be a hateful person by nature and then the more you're exposed to me, the more that hateful, demonic nature takes over, until that's all that's left of you… just pure undiluted hate.

I've commissioned some stuff in the past, it's all publicly available on the artist's deviantart pages though.

Instead, could this thread be about which artists out there are willing to take commissions, and what kinds of commissions are they willing to take?

I'm interested in commissioning artists for more stuff, but there's really only a handful of artists that I like, and they're usually not taking commissions when I'm ready to buy, or have moved over to a Patreon model.

Also, I want to commission some artists for some longer form, comic book stuff, but no one seems really interested in that, if they are taking commissions.

I also know there's a lot of good furry artists out there who take commissions but they're weird because a lot of them won't do human art, and I'm not interested in furry stuff.

Being able to see who is and isn't available and what they're willing to do would be really helpful.

Owlcan is relatively cheap. For his lowest price (12$) Your almost garenteed a colored sketch. If you subscribe to his patreon for five bucks you get a pretty clean sketch every month. A lot of people seem to have a problem with his style. I don't personally.

The problem is a lot of them are inconsistent when it comes to commissions… like a lot of artists will only have like 5 or 10 "slots" open per month and then it's like "first come, first serve".

Art trades/commissions? How about REQUESTS from big-name artists, back when they were just starting out? I consider myself one lucky bastard to have taken advantage of the opportunity to request from these artists at that time, especially knowing they'll never take requests like that ever again.

I'd post actual trades/commissions I've gotten before here, but they're either from lower-grade artists that are only really friends with me, or they shatter the illusion of my anonymity. I'm quite sure a few of you can probably already tell who I am though, so go ahead and say it if you know

I'm the guy you were initially replying to.

I might commission OwlCan for something in the future, especially since he seems like he might be open to some longer form, comic book type stuff, but even though I don't hate his style, so much of what he draws looks so similar. I don't think he sucks, but there's definitely higher tier artists out there I'd commission if I could.

I also commissioned these 4 Mass Effect pics from ZRageMan years ago. The original idea was to get him to do one for each of the female squad characters in ME 1-3. I'm kinda glad he said he didn't want to continue the series after these 4 though. He's a great artist, but he didn't have any background on the series and Miranda and Kasumi are pretty disappointing.

Ok, despite how that sounds a little condescending, I agree with you.

A big reason why I want to find an artist who's willing to do longer form commissions, like comics, is because I'm not really interested anymore in just seeing still images of characters. What I'm interested in is scenarios. I've written stories before, and I have characters in them, but it's not the characters that are really as important to me, it's the situations and the character's interacting.

The reason I commissioned the Dragon Age and mass Effect stuff is because a few years ago there was no ABDL art out about either franchise, and I thought it would be cool to commission the first pieces of it. But now I kinda regret that, because the real reason I want to hire artists now is to help me tell stories visually, since I can't really do that.

Also sorry about that sounding condescending. Wasn't directed towards you, was poking fun at the way a lot of people seem to react at people commissioning OC's. People just seem to hate the fact you would pay someone to draw your character.
