It's a snarky kids book series with interesting settings and action scenes and ideas. They deal with a rich autismo genius kid interacting with magical creatures of various kinds and kind of unfucking his life over the course of the series. The author writes simply and they're kind of fun, albeit trashy, kids books that achieve the rare goal of not being pretentious or corny despite dealing with kind of cringeworthy ingredients. I would perhaps describe them as Clive Cussler for kids? Anyway, the series had a solid three novels that I think some anons are evidently rather fond of.
