I know you're joking but Tom Six is a fucking hack of a writer/director and his shitty films only got popular because of the 2007-2013 wave of "DUDE IT'S GROSS AND WEIRD, IT'S FUN QUIRKY HORROR DUDE LMAO" movies that were coming out.
The film tries to be a "satire", but Six doesn't know enough about film or anything for that matter to even understand what he's satirizing. It has all the hallmarks of a satire film: the over-the-top acting, the corny writing, the extreme absurdity of the plot, but it misses having an actual target.
You can't say it's a satire of horror films like Cabin in the Woods is because it doesn't really parody any horror movie tropes, story beats or character archetypes.
You can't say it's a satire of the movie industry in general because it's obvious Six doesn't actually know that much about Hollywood outside of "loud music" and "cinematic angles".
You can't say it's a satire of the US prison system because George W. Bush State Prison (real subtle and topical name lmao, Obama was president when the first film released and Trump was already campaigning by the time HC3 came out) doesn't function like any prison on Earth and the warden is an absolutely insane cannibal rather than being a power-tripping official, the prison is also facing direct opposition from the local Governor for most of the movie unlike actual prisons which receive heavy governmental support.
You can't say it's a satire of the medical industry because nobody involved is a medical professional and the procedure they're preforming comes from a fictional movie, the film even makes a point of this.
The only thing you can say it's a satire of is the Human Centipede series itself. The film is kind of meta, in its universe the first two movies exist as just that: movies (something the second film already did, mind you). The warden calls Tom Six himself (yes, he plays himself in the movie) and asks him about the films. But even then it doesn't work, because it's not actually satirizing anything about the original films, it's just taking what they did and doing it more in a more extreme way.
It doesn't make any kind of commentary or statement on the series on a whole, it's just edgy scene after edgy scene until the film ends with a "America bad :(" message as if it were building up to that the whole time, and that doesn't follow from the previous films as neither of them took place in the US. It's a giant identity crisis of a movie.
Six is also somewhat of a Tommy Wiseau figure according to people who met him. I mean, he literally wrote himself into the movie. I recommend reading his Twitter, he lacks any sense of self-awareness and takes his work quite seriously.
Human Centipede 3 was such a trainwreck that a lot of the actors didn't even want to be credited. Seriously, look up the credits. You'll see names like "Peter Blankenstein" and "Daniel TwoFeathers", which obviously aren't real names. He hired a porn actress to play one of the only female inmate, seemingly ignoring the fact real prisons don't throw people of different sexes into the same prison. He made a pretentious statement it, but he probably just wanted to hire a porn actress he liked to do weird shit.
And like I said, this wave of gross-out movies was only really around from 2007 to 2013, HM3 came out in 2015. As a result, it was a massive fucking flop and only grossed $16,184 at the box office.
The Human Centipede series is actual hot garbage and I felt the need to rant about it. They are the antithesis of kino.
